Drama has been utilized with a variety of educational purposes. In this study, I've introduced the drama classes at Waldorf School and checked the applied cases of them to the field of Korean education purposely for searching for drama classes in the educational arenas outside of the school system. To begin with, I've introduced the educational philosophy and the curriculum of Waldorf School so as to take a broad view of the status of drama curriculum within the overall course of education and the correlation to other disciplines. And then I've given a detailed description in matters of the purpose and the contents of drama classes in the Waldorf Education and described the educational contents of drama classes by 12th grade based on the cases of Cheonggye Waldorf School I've worked before. I anticipate this research to provide a healthy educational imagination for teachers, instructors, and artists proceeding drama classes for children and youth at sites of public education and varied artistic environments.

연극은 다양한 교육적인 목표로 교육현장에서 활용되었다. 본고에서는 제도권 밖의 교육현장에서의 연 극 교육을 탐색하는 일환으로, 발도르프 학교에서의 연극 수업에 대해서 소개하고, 한국교육현장에서 적용된 사례를 살펴보았다. 먼저 전체 교육과정 안에서 연극 교과가 차치하는 위상과 다른 과목과의 연계성을 거시적인 차원에서 살펴보고자, 발도르프 교육 철학과 발도르프 학교의 교육과정에 대해서 소개하였다. 이어서 발도르프 교육에서의 연극 수업의 목표와 내용을 자세하게 기술하였고, 12학년 연극 제작 과정을 필자가 재직하였 던 청계발도르프학교에서의 연극 수업의 사례를 바탕으로 기술하였다. 본 연구가 공교육과 다양한 예술현장에서 아동·청소년들에게 연극교육을 진행하는 교사·강사·예술가들 에게 건강한 교육적 상상력을 제공하기를 기대한다.
