One important purpose of theological education is to train seminarians how to serve the local church with the Word of God. This article has examined “Understanding of the consciousness and ministry of the Korean seminarians”, which IGOODNEWS had surveyed 300 Korean seminarians in 2015, and examined the following four subjects which IGOODNEWS did not analyse further on the internet news articles. These four subjects are calling awareness and piety training in the seminary, theological education satisfaction, awareness of harmony between theoretical theology and pastoral practice in education. awareness about career after graduation and preparation for the future pastoral ministry. This article has also adopted the comparative methodology between ecumenical seminarians and non-ecumenical seminarians as for the analysis method about the above-mentioned four subjects. This article has confirmed that non-ecumenical seminarians maintain the more excellent grade of awareness on all of the four subjects, compared to ecumenical seminarians. One reason for the more excellent awareness could be inferred from their seminaries’ theological educational system. One of the important reasons why the students enter the Christian seminary (M. Div. course) is to become a competent pastor to serve the local church. In order to acquire this unique educational purpose, almost seminaries concentrate both academic theological education and the piety training for the godly character of the prospective pastors. Theological education satisfaction takes higher rank in those seminaries which concentrate more the pastoral ministry training and the godly character training. As well understood, awareness of harmony between theoretical theology and pastoral practice, and awareness about career after graduation and preparation also take higher rank in those seminaries where concentrates the future pastoral minster education rather than theoretical academic education. Generally surveyed, the contemporary Korean seminarians’ awareness and ministry takes the more positive directions in those seminaries where theological education concentrates the prospective pastoral minister education. Therefore, the Christian seminaries should keep harmony between academy and piety in the whole theological education structure, and should concentrate on educating the future competent pastoral ministers, based upon the reformed theology.

신학교육의 중요한 목적은 교회를 목양할 유능한 목회자를 양성하는 것이다. 본 논문에서 연구자들은 아이 굿뉴스가 2015년에 한국의 신학대학원에 재학중인 300명의 신대원 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사했던“2015 년 한국 신대원생들의 의식과 사역에 관한 이해”조사보고서와 분석 기사를 살펴보고 기사에서 충분히 다루 지 않은 다음 네 가지 영역에 관한 분석과 대안 모색을 시도 하였다. 그 네 가지 영역은 ① 신대원생들의 소명의식과 경건훈련, ② 신학교 육의 만족도, ③ 신학이론과 목회실천의 조화에 대한 이해의 정도, ④ 졸업 이 후의 진로에 대한 이해와 그에 대한 준비이다. 또한 상기한 네 영역에 대한 분 석 방법으로는 에큐메니칼 신학생들과 비에큐메니칼 신학생들에 대한 비교 연 구 방법에 집중하였다. 그 결과 네 영역 모두 비에큐메니칼 신학생들이 에큐메니칼 신학생들에 비하 여 더 우수한 수준을 유지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과가 나타나는 이 유로는 신학생들의 의식이 신학생이 속한 신학교의 교육방식과 서로 일치하기 때 문인 것으로 추측할 수 있다. 신대원생들이 신학교에 입학하는 중요한 이유는 교 회를 목양하는 목회자가 되기 위함이다. 이러한 독특한 신학교의 목적을 효과적 으로 달성하기 위하여 대부분의 신학교는 신학교육을 위한 학문과 신학생들의 인 격훈련을 위한 경건훈련에 집중한다. 신학교육 만족도는 목회자 양성에 집중하는 신학교일수록 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 신학이론과 목회실천의 조화에 대한 이해나 졸업 이후의 진로에 대한 기대감, 그리고 그 진로에 대한 대비 역시 목회자 양성에 집중하는 신학교에 재학하는 학생들이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 전반적으로 볼 때 신학교가 예비 목회자 양성이라는 본래의 목적에 충실할 때, 신학생들의 의식과 사역은 긍정적인 방향으로 형성되고 있는 것으로 나타 났다. 따라서 신학교는 개혁신학에 근거하여 신학교육 전반에 걸쳐서 학문과 경건의 균형을 적절히 유지하면서 유능한 목회자를 양성하고 교육하는 일에 집중해야 한다.
