This research is to clarify the Christian counseling ethics on a counselor's sexual misconduct. The researcher dealt with the meaning and the background of counseling ethics. The researcher also examined the realities and the evil effect of a counselor's sexual misconduct, cause and weakness of a counselor's sexual misconduct, and a Christian counselor's preventive device against sexual misconduct. The definition of sexual misconduct used in this study consists of sexual intercourse, sexual violence, sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual harassment, sexual attraction, and various sexual behavior. Counseling ethics deals with a moral and ethical standard, which includes a counselor's attitude, guideline of conduct in counseling. The cases of sexual misconduct in counseling setting and also in Christian counseling setting have been reported frequently these days. A counselor's sexual misconduct breaks the trust relationship between counselors and clients. Counselors who committed sexual misconduct are mainly male. Counselors should maintain a psychological and physical safety-distance from clients. Also, counseling institutes, such as associations, academies, societies, and graduate schools, in which they issue license of counseling should provide education system and/or curriculum on Christian counseling ethics in detail. One who wants to be a Christian counselor ought to have biblical perspective on human and Christian self-identify.

이 연구는 기독교상담에서 상담자와 내담자 간에 발생할 수 있는 성 행동을 분석하고 이런 문제를 예방하며, 바람직한 대처 방안을 모색하여 바른 지침을 제시하고자 하는 것이다. 이 연구에서는 상담윤리규정 제정의 의미와 배경, 내담자관련 성 행동의 실태와 폐해, 상담관련 성 행동의 발생원인과 취약성, 성 행동에 대한 상담윤리적 입장, 기독교상담적 대처방안 등에 중점을 두었다. 이 연구에서 성 행동은 성 행위(성교)를 포함하여 성 폭력, 성 폭행, 성 학대, 성 추행, 성적 호감 등 광범위한 성적 부정행위를 내포하는 용어로 사용하였다. 상담윤리라는 것은 상담에서 도덕적으로 옳고 그름을 판단하는 일련의 태도, 기준, 지침, 규칙, 규정, 규범 등으로 이해할 수 있다. 기독교상담자로서 자신을 지키는 것은 성령 안에서 기도하며 영성훈련을 통해 하나님과 밀착되고 비성경적인 유혹으로부터 이격되는 절제의 훈련이 중요하다는 것을 강조했다. 상담자의 잘못된 성 행동 예방을 위한 기독교상담적 대처방안으로는 상담사를 양성하는 기관에서 상담자가 확고한 기독교인간관을 수립하도록 하고 투철한 역할정체성을 확립하도록 해야 하며, 관리기관에서는 상담자의 자격유지를 위한 상담윤리교육을 강화해야 한다는 것이다.
