Recently, single-parent families are increasing. This pheno- menon is due to social change of increased marriage breakdown. Unlike ordinary families, single-parent families are facing more challenges. Both families are facing various issues including conflict with children, nurturing attitude and behavior, etc. however single parents have more. Because the nurturing attitude which had received from their original family, inferiority which had been formed while they were growing, and the lack of confidence, etc. influence social life and parenting of single parents. Because of this, the research deals with the problem of children of single-parent families, and tries to solve it. In particular, it is focused on the inferiority problem which is the main reason to lower down their life value. Because inferiority makes single-parents to regard themselves as the incompetents and the problems, causes self-abasement, oppresses themselves, and adds negativity to have low self-esteem. Considering this, in this paper, based on the theory of Adler, study the cause of the problem of children of single-parent families, and accordingly try to find the countermeasures. This paper aims to solve the problem of single-parent families so that single parents and their children can lay off the oppressive feeling, improve the relationship between parents and children, and restore the importance of families. The reason why take Adler's theory is that he is a well known scholar and counselor who emphasizes the importance of the family more than any other. Indeed, it is expected to solve the problem of the children of single-parent families, to strengthen their positivity and to increase their inner strength by appling the theory of Adler.

최근에 한부모 가정이 증가하고 있다. 이런 현상은 결혼파탄이 증가하는 사회의 변화에 의한 것이라고 보아야 한다. 일반 가정과는 달리 한부모 가정은 그만큼 더 많은 문제를 안고 있다. 어느 가정이나 할 것 없이 자녀와 갈등, 양육태도 문제, 행동문제 등 다양한 문제를 안고 있지만, 한부모들은 일반가정보다 원가족으로 부터 받은 양육태도, 성장배경에서 형성된 열등감, 그리고 자신감 결여 등이 자신의 삶을 살아가는 사회생활과 자녀양육의 문제에 영향을 끼치기 때문이다. 이로 인해 연구자는 한부모 가정의 자녀들에서 발생하는 문제에 주목하고, 그 해결에 중점을 두고자 한다. 특히 이들에게 삶의 가치를 저하시키는 주된 원인이 되는 열등감의 문제에 초점을 두고 연구한다. 열등감은 한부모로 하여금 자신은 무능력한 존재로 인식하게 만들고, 자기비하를 유발시키며 스스로를 억압하고 문제가 있는 사람으로 여기게 만들고, 부정성을 증대시켜 낮은 자존감을 갖게 만든다는 점에서다. 이런 점을 고려하여 본 논문에서는 아들러(A. Adler)의 이론에 기대어 한부모 가정의 자녀들에게 발생하는 문제의 원인을 알아보고, 그에 따른 대처방안을 밝힌다. 이는 한부모 가정 자녀들의 문제를 해소하여 한부모와 한부모 자녀들이 억압된 감정으로부터 벗어나 부모-자녀 관계가 개선되고 가정의 중요성을 회복하기 위한 것이다. 여기에 아들러의 이론의 도움을 받고자 하는 것은 그가 누구보다도 가정의 중요성을 강조한 학자요 치료자로 꼽힌다는 점에서다. 실로 아들러의 이론을 적용하여 한부모 가정의 자녀들이 갖고 있는 문제점을 해소하여 그들에게 긍정성을 높여 내적인 힘을 산출하는 결과를 기대하는 것이다.
