‘Shinmyo year Jo’Gisa(‘辛卯年 條’記事) specified on 「the rubbing of the inscription on the of Gwanggaeto the Great(廣開土王陵碑文)」 tells us the relation among Goguryeo(高句麗), Baekje(百濟), Silla(新羅) and Wae(倭). However, it is usual to say that the seokmoon(釋文) and interpretation of undecipherable letters through ‘dividing phrase’ are different among scholars. Even though, of course, the interpretations are inference(推斷), These are generally divided into ‘interpretations of the basis of Wae and Goguryeo’. The most view of scholars of Japan and China belongs to former and The most view of scholars of South and North Korea belongs to latter. First, according to the interpretation of the basis of Wae, actions(行爲) of Wae were regarded as a basic content of ‘shinmyo year Jo’ and it completely considered a grammatical side of Gisa. Also, it contextualized historical fact. it is a example that ‘Samhanjeongbeol(三韓征伐)’ in 『Nihon Shoki(日本書紀)』 Shingonggi(神功紀) was connected with the interpretation of shinmyo year Jo which was the basis of Wae. Secondly, the interpretation of the basis of Goguryeo started at tendency to investigate shinmyo year Jo with the contents in 『Chronicles of the Three States(三國史記)』. It was a result making use of a new method of ‘dividing phrase’ and ‘falsification of epigraph’. Especially, There were some processes that Goguryeo not to appear in Gisa was considered as sense subject and a letter of Hae(海) was thought as Wang(王) which menas supreme king. Also, regarding to ‘Baekjetobeol(百濟討伐)’ in Younglak 6 years, shinmyo year Jo was considered as Jeonchimoon(前置文) and it was interpreted as it had been unavoidable for supreme king to carry on subjugation.

「廣開土王陵碑文」에 명기된 ‘辛卯年 條’記事는 당시 高句麗·百濟·新羅·倭 사이의 관계를 알려주는 역할을 하고 있다. 다만 일부 判讀不能 字와 나름대로의 ‘구절나누기’를 통해 釋文과 해석이 학자들마다 다르다는 것은 익히 알려진 바이다. 물론 저마다 해석들이 ‘推斷’한 것에 불과한 것이기는 하지만, 대체로 ‘倭 중심과 高句麗 중심’으로 그 의미가 나눠진다. 이는 日本·中國 학자들의 견해는 전자에 속하며, 南·北韓 학자들의 의견은 후자에 속하는 경우가 대다수 라 하겠다. 먼저 倭 중심적인 해석이라 하면, 倭의 行爲를 나타내는 것을 신묘년 조의 기본 내용으로 보는 것이며 이는 전적으로 記事 자체의 문법적인 면만을 고려한 것이라 하겠다. 또한 이를 바탕으로 역사적 사실과 관련지으려 했던 것이다. 이는 『日本書紀』 神功紀에 보이는 ‘三韓征伐’을 倭 중심의 신묘년 조 해석과 연관시키려 한 점을 그 예로 들 수 있겠다. 高句麗 중심의 해석은 『三國史記』에 수록된 내용들을 근거로 신묘년 조를 분석하려는 경향에서 시작됐다. 이는 기존과는 다른 새로운 ‘구절나누기’와 ‘비문변조설’을 적절히 활용한 결과이기도 했다. 특히 記事에 등장하지 않는 高句麗를 의미상주어로 여기거나 태왕을 나타내는 ‘王’을 ‘海’字 대신하여 비정하는 등 일련의 과정을 거치기도 했다. 또한 永樂 6년에 단행된 ‘百濟討伐’과 관련해서도 신묘년조를 前置文으로 보며, 태왕이 그러한 토벌을 진행할 수밖에 없었던 상황으로 이를 해석하고자 했다.
