The purpose of this study was to analyze whether there is any relationship between parents' child rearing attitudes in the individual external variables and career awareness of students in elementary school grade 5-6. Career awareness related to existing studies focused primarily on personal factors such as socio-demographic variables and psychological variables. Recently research is being increased including the impact of external factors, in particular the importance of parents' child rearing attitudes of the individual external factors are emphasized. But the specific relationship research between parents' child rearing attitudes targeting elementary school students and career awareness was almost rare, was to analyze the canonical correlation analysis between parents' child rearing attitudes sub-variables and career awareness sub-variables. The 317 samples were the 5th and 6th grade one elementary school students in Guro, Seoul, the measuring tools used were PAQ and CAST. The major findings are, first, the case of elementary school students appeared to perceive a similar type of parents' child rearing attitudes. Second, authoritative and permissive parents' child rearing attitudes were aware of the static matter what career development. Third, it was found to have many relationships in authoritative parents' child rearing attitudes and self-understanding, career attitude, in particular, authoritative parents' child rearing attitudes and self-understanding are most closely related. These findings suggest that both parents should have a authoritative parents' child rearing attitudes to develop their children's career awareness.

진로인식과 관련된 기존의 연구들은 주로 개인의 사회인구학적, 심리적 요인에 초점을 두어, 그 중요성에 불구하고 부모양육태도와 같은 관계적 요인의 영향에 대해서는 다소 등한시하였다. 이에 이 연구에서는 초등학교 고학년인 5∼6 학생들이 인식하는 부모양육태도와 진로인식 간의 관계를 분석하고자 하였다. 이 연구의 연구대상은 서울시내 구로구 A 초등학교 5∼6학년 317명이며, 측정도구는 부모양육태도 및 진로인식 표준화 검사이다. 연구자료 분석방법으로는 부와 모의 양육태도 하위 요인과 진로인식 하위 요인 간의 다중적 관계를 분석할 수 있는 정준상관분석을 이용하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학생의 경우 부와 모의 양육태도를 비슷한 유형으로 지각하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모의 민주적 양육태도와 허용적 양육태도가 진로인식 발달에 정적인 상관을 보였다. 셋째, 부모 모두 양육태도 중 민주적 양육태도가 진로인식 하위 요인 중 자기이해와 진로태도에 많은 관계를 갖는 것으로 밝혀졌고, 특히 부모의 민주적 양육태도와 자기이해 요인이 가장 밀접한 관계가 있음이 밝혀졌다. 이러한 연구 결과는 자녀의 진로인식 발달을 위해서는 부모 모두 민주적 양육태도를 가져야 함을 시사한다.
