The purpose of this study is to develop the college life adjustment scale, which reflected cultural characteristics of college freshmen education in Korean university and to validate the scale. For these purposes the study first extracted preliminary constructs of college life adaptation by reviewing related research and analyzing existing scales. The college life adjustment scale tool which was constructed by looking into previous studies and going through expert’s content validity test and pilot test was used to collect data from 1,289 university freshmen. The reliability of the final scale was tested using Cronbach’s alpha coefficients and the construct validity was examined through exploratory factor analysis(EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis(CFA). The result of exploratory factor analysis presented the scale of 64 items from 5 construct and 16 factors: academic adjustment(basic learning abilities, self-directed learning, learning management), social adjustment(student-student relationship, professor-student relationship, academic-social activities, social support), environment adjustment(university satisfaction, major satisfaction, home/economic environment), emotional adjustment(self-identity, self-efficacy, self-emotional control ability), and career adjustment(major-desired career match, career decision-making, career preparation behavior). The reliability coefficient of the scale shows high internal consistency coefficient. The fit indices from confirmatory factor analysis also showed the structural goodness of suggested constructs in the scale. The overall analysis confirmed that the college life adjustment prediction tool was congruent.

본 연구의 목적은 대학 신입생의 대학생활적응수준을 판단하기 위한 척도를 개발하고 타당화하는 것이다. 이를 위해 기존의 대학생활적응 영향요인에 대한 연구 및 검사도구를 토대로 대학생활적응 요인 및 검사문항을 추출하고 수정·보완하였다. 선행연구 고찰과 전문가 내용타당도 검증과 예비타당성 검증을 통해 구성된 대학생활적응척도 도구를 신입생 1,289명을 대상으로 본 검사를 진행하였다. 본 검사에서는 신뢰도 확인 및 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적요인분석을 통해 타당도를 확인하였다. 연구결과 학업적응(기초학습능력, 자기주도학습, 학습관리), 사회적응(학생-학생 관계, 교수-학생 관계, 학내외 교류활동, 사회적지지), 환경적응(대학만족도, 전공만족도, 가정/경제적 환경), 정서적응(자아정체감, 자기효능감, 감정조절능력), 진로적응(전공과 진로, 진로결정수준, 진로준비행동)의 5개 주요인과 16개 하위요인으로 구성된 총 64개 문항의 척도를 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 척도의 신뢰도는 높게 나타났다. 그리고 개발된 척도의 적합도 검증을 위하여 확인적 요인분석을 실시한 결과, 다양한 적합도 지수들이 적절하게 나타나 본 척도가 대학생활적응을 측정하는 타당한 도구인 것으로 나타났다.
