This study aims to seek whether the actual narration of the theme and contents of high school ethics textbook by adapting the Korean spirit of harmony to applied ethics. Adapting Korean traditional ethical thought which requires normative recognition of standard and behavior to applied ethics which emphasizes resolution of ethical conflicts in modern society and narrating is quiet complicated. However, the spirit of harmony among Korean traditional ethical thoughts appears to be flexible enough to approach the applied ethics. Therefore, this study will review the contents as follows. First, the spirit of harmony in Korean traditional ethical thoughts will be studied. And the flexible elements of the spirit of harmony among various Korean traditional ethical thoughts will be stated. Second, the connectivity between definition of applied ethics and text book will be examined to seek narrative contents of Korean traditional ethics in . Third, the study will apply the Korean spirit of harmony to the theme and contents of textbook , examine the applicability, and describe the theme and contents of textbook based on the Korean spirit of harmony. The researcher believes the resolution for ethical problems in Korea has its answer among the Korean traditional ethical thoughts. Therefore, I will set forth that the Korean traditional ethical thoughts are able to be applied to applied ethics as the western ethical thoughts are.

본 연구의 목적은 한국 조화(調和) 정신을 응용 윤리학에 적용하여, 고등학교 윤리 교과서 『생활과 윤리』의 주제와 내용에 실제로 서술이 가능함을 모색해 보고자 한 것이다. 당위적인 규범의 인지 및 행동을 요구하는 한국 전통 윤리 사상을 현대 사회의 윤리적 갈등 문제 해결을 중시하는 응용 윤리학의 내용에 적용하여 서술한다는 것은 어려운 면이 있다. 하지만 한국 전통 윤리 사상들 중에서도 한국 조화 정신은 응용 윤리에 접근할 수 있는 탄력적인 사상이라고 생각한다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 내용을 중심으로 이를 검토해 보고자 한다. 첫째, 한국 전통 윤리 사상 중에서 조화 정신이 무엇인지를 살펴볼 것이다. 그리고 많은 한국 전통 윤리 사상 중에서 조화 정신이 가진 탄력적인 요소가 무엇인지를 개진하고자 한다. 둘째, 응용 윤리학의 의미와 교과서 『생활과 윤리』의 연계성을 살펴보고, 『생활과 윤리』에 서술된 한국 전통 윤리 내용을 찾아보고자 한다. 셋째, 한국 조화 정신을 교과서 『생활과 윤리』의 주제 내용에 응용하여, 그 적용 가능성 여부를 검토하고, 교과서 주제 내용을 한국 조화 정신에 입각하여 서술해 보고자 한다. 본 연구자는 우리 한국에서 생겨나는 윤리적 문제들의 해결 방법은 우리 한국 전통 윤리 사상에 그 해답이 있다고 생각한다. 그래서 우리 전통 윤리 사상들도 서양 윤리학처럼 응용 윤리에 적용될 수 있음을 모색해 볼 것이다.
