The work retranslating and utilizing traditional cultural resources in our region is notable in the sense that using tangible and intangible legacy, we can increase the understanding, attachment on the region and the cultural factor as well as we can create substantial economic value connected with industry. ‘Gyeongsan Jaindanoje’ (hereafter Jaindanoje) selected as a topic of discussion in this study is a massive form of village exorcism rite where various folklore are held as well as an ancestral ritual formality which has been passed down in Jain-myeon, Gyeongsansi village, administered for Han Chang Kun, a guardian spirit for the region, not only the attributes and customs of Danoje have been preserved well but the tangible and intangible legacy of the region have been condensed densely here, which enables it to be utilized as both cultural content and cultural element representing the region in various fields. However, in spite of these movements, Jaindanoje has been pointed out that till now it has never broken bounds of regional rite centered on preservation association. This not only shows that the movement recognizing and trying to utilize ‘Jaindanoje’ as a cultural resource was not active, regional interest in popularization of the object is not insignificant, but implies that the discussion on the subject to materialize it as cultural resource including restoring and embodying the original form of ‘Jaindanoje’ is necessary. Therefore stories of ‘Han Chang Kun’ and ‘Yeo Won Mu’ are going to be collected and reviewed, modern motif and value to be deduced and utilizing method to be presented in this study. In the realm not to damage the value of ‘Jaindanoje’, by looking for the storytelling method focusing on ‘Han Chang Kun’ and ‘Yeo Won Mu’, this is expected to give hands in preparing the base of concerned contents. In addition, by refreshing present value of ‘Jaindanoje’, the cultural resource representing the region and presenting idea rooted on ‘Han Chang Kun’ story, the aspect making it utilized in real event later also implies the meaning to connect the theory with the field.

정부에서 「문화기본법」과 「지역문화진흥법」을 제정하면서 지역문화를 체계적으로 진흥하겠다는 의지를 표명했고, 관련 연구 역시 질적・양적 성장을 거듭했으며, 지역의 전통과 정체성을 보여줄 수 있는 문화요소에 관한관심과 산업적으로 활용하려는 움직임이 더해졌다. 이처럼 지역문화는 지역사회는 물론 다양한 문화단위에서 주목받으면서 지역적 특성과 정체성을표현하고 심화하는 기제로 또는 지역간 또는 국가간 경쟁력을 평가하는 주요지표로 인식되고 있다. 특히 지역의 전통문화자원을 재해석하고 활용하는 일은 유・무형유산을 통해 지역과 문화요소에 대한 이해와 애착을 높이고, 산업과 연계하여 실질적인 경제적 가치를 창출할 수 있다는 점에서 관심을 끌어 왔다. 논의의 대상으로 삼은 ‘자인단오제’는 경산시 자인면의 수호신인 ‘한 장군’을 위무하는 제례이자 마을굿이다. 단오제의 특성과 풍속이 잘 보존되어있고, 지역의 유・무형유산이 밀도 높게 응축되어 있다는 점에서 각계각층으로부터 주목받아 왔으나, 여전히 보존회를 중심으로 하는 지역 의례 수준을 벗어나지 못했다. 이는 ‘자인단오제’를 문화자원으로 인식하고 활용하려는 움직임이 활발하지 못했고, 대상의 대중화보다 원형에 대한 갑론을박이우선되어 온 현실을 반성케 하는 한편, ‘자인단오제’의 성공적인 운영을 위해서는 원형의 가치를 계승하면서도 문화자원으로 활용하는 방안이 마련되어야 함을 시사한다. 따라서 이 글에서는 ‘한 장군’과 ‘여원무’의 스토리를 수집・검토하고, 현대적 화소 및 가치를 도출하며, 스토리텔링에 기반을 둔 활용방안을 모색하고자 한다. 이는 ‘자인단오제’의 가치를 훼손하지 않는 범위에서 문화콘텐츠의 기획과 제작을 위한 토대를 마련하는 일이자, 지역을 대표하는 문화자원의 현재적 가치를 환기하는 계기가 될 것이다. 또한 ‘한 장군’ 스토리에뿌리를 둔 아이디어를 제시해 추후 행사에 적용토록 함으로써 내외부로부터 지적된 한계를 극복하고 이론과 현장을 연결하는 데 이바지할 것이다.
