- This study describes an approach to convergence design-oriented innovative engineering education and a role of government to support it with legal system and finance. Based on the analysis of problems of traditional engineering education a new approach of academia-industry-government cooperation for convergence design-oriented engineering education is presented. First one is that a new legal device for academia-industry cooperation should be made by government and second one is that in order to create student-centered engineering education, student-centered classrooms and design complex should be constructed.
