The atmosphere is a complicated phenomenon of space time and the one method that we can realize the life. This topic is to figure out what the classroom atmosphere is and what meanings it has which hasn't been discussed deeply so far, though we think that it is in the classroom. The classroom atmosphere is can defined as followings. First, the classroom atmosphere can be emotions, thoughts, feelings that we have temporarily in the classroom. Second, the classroom atmosphere can be realized as circumstances surrounding the classroom and situations in the classroom. Third, the classroom atmosphere is the particular character and feelings of the classroom. Forth, the classroom atmosphere can be defined as the flow of public opinion that is made naturally in the classroom. Also, the classroom atmosphere has the following importances in the classroom. First, the classroom atmosphere recreates usual moments in the classroom into educational situations and space. Second, the classroom atmosphere gives a mental stability. Third, we can understand a classroom culture through the classroom atmosphere, as it is a side of a classroom culture and manners.

분위기는 시공간이 가진 복잡한 현상이자, 삶을 파악하는 하나의 방법이다. 이 글은 통상적 으로 우리가 교실에 존재한다고 생각하지만 그 동안 깊이 있게 다루지 않았던 교실 분위기가 무엇이며, 어떠한 교육적 의미를 갖는지 알아보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구를 통해서 교실 분위기는 다음과 같이 정의할 수 있었다. 첫째, 교실 분위기는 교실에서 일시적으로 지각하는 감정이나 생각, 기분이 될 수 있다. 둘째, 교실 분위기는 교실을 둘러싸고 있는 환경이나 교실 속 상황으로 볼 수 있다. 셋째, 교실 분위기는 교실만의 독특한 성격이나 느낌이다. 넷째, 교실 분위기는 자연스럽게 만들어진 교실 속 여론의 흐름이라고 정의할 수 있다. 또한 교실 분위기는 교실에서 다음과 같은 교육적 의미를 갖는 것을 알 수 있었다. 첫째, 교실 분위기는 교실의 일반적 순간들을 교육적 상황과 공간으로 재창조한다. 둘째, 교실 분위기는 심리적 안정감을 느끼게 한다. 셋째, 교실 분위기는 교실 문화나 교실 풍토의 한 단면으로, 교실 분위기를 통해 교실 문화 를 엿볼 수 있는 기회가 된다.
