In this study, we analyze the international competitiveness of materials and components industry of Korea based on resource-based view. This study suggests that technological capability, human capital, managerial competence, supplier-customer relationship and international marketing capability positively influence on the international competitiveness of materials and components industry of Korea. We sampled 767 materials and components firms of Korea. The results showed that R&D capability, labor productivity, human resource development activity, operational efficiency, profitability, investment activity and international marketing capability positively influence on the international competitiveness of 767 materials and components firms of Korea. And R&D capability(number of intellectual property right), labor productivity, profitability, investment activity and international marketing capability positively influence on the international competitiveness of 145 materials firms of Korea. Lastly, R&D capability, labor productivity, manning level, human resource development activity, operational efficiency, profitability, investment activity and international marketing capability positively influence on the international competitiveness of 622 components firms of Korea.

본 연구는 자원기반관점에 기반을 두어 한국 소재·부품산업의 국제경쟁력을 분석하였다. 구체적으로 소재·부품산업에 속한 기업의 기술 경쟁력(연구개발 역량, 기술개발 활동), 인적자원 경쟁력(노동생산성, 보유인력 수준, 인력개발 활동), 경영 능력(운영 효율성, 수익성, 투자활동), 협력업체와의 관계, 그리고 국제마케팅 역량이 소재·부품산업의 국제경쟁력에 정(+)의 영향을 미칠 것이라고 주장하였다. 소재·부품산업에 속한 767개 기업을 대상으로 실증분석을 실시한 결과, 연구개발 역량, 노동생산성, 인력개발 활동, 운영 효율성, 수익성, 투자활동, 국제마케팅 역량이 국제경쟁력에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 소재산업에 속한 145개 기업을 대상으로 실증분석을 실시한 결과, 연구개발 역량(지적재산권 수), 노동생산성, 수익성, 투자활동, 국제마케팅 역량이 국제경쟁력에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 부품산업에 속한 622개 기업을 대상으로 실증분석을 실시한 결과, 연구개발 역량, 노동생산성, 보유인력 수준, 인력개발 활동, 운영 효율성, 수익성, 투자활동, 국제마케팅 역량이 국제경쟁력에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
