Cheobhaesineo(Shoukaishingo) is one of the Japanese language textbooks of Sayeokwon in the Joseon Dynasty, which is designed for comprehensive teaching material mainly focusing on development of speaking ability. Firstly, this study is aimed to research on volumes of Japanese vocabularies that may be learned through the Cheobhaesineo by extracting vocabulary collection in the textbook. Secondly, this review has been carried out to analyze primary words with high frequency, thereby verifying key vocabularies that may be learn preferentially. Lastly, the value of Cheobhaesineo as a studying material has been reviewed in a process of the above-mentioned study. Through the pre-mentioned second study, the cumulative frequency has been analyzed by arranging types in order of appearance frequency from the total data. Through the research on Cheobhaesineo, it was verified that primary study of top 20 common vocabularies of Wŏnkanpon leads to 21.4% understanding of Wŏnkanpon in total, 20.9% for Kaesupon and 19.5% for Chungkanpon respectively. Also, the review includes contents of those most common vocabularies that are composed of basics and fundamental level. Given the circumstance where learning foreign languages was overly limited, Cheobhaesineo was utilized for the elementary textbook through the basics and essential vocabularies, and used for the work book for specific field through the secondary group of lexicon. However, comparing to vocabulary volume that may be learned through the education for secondary foreign languages at the stage of middle or high school training of Korea today, the vocabulary list of Cheobhaesineo remains at the elementary level, and it would be hard for education for the advanced level. Besides, considering the limited environment for foreign languages, it is hard to conclude that the number of vocabulary of Cheobhaesineo are not enough for the special text book for specialized filed.

朝鮮時代の司訳院倭学書(朝鮮資料)の中で最も代表的なものであり、実務会話能力の育成に重点を置いた総合教材として『捷解新語』がある。『捷解新語』は1678年以降、韓国での学部令期(1895∼1911)が始まるまで、公の場での日本語学習並びに評価の際に最も多く用いられた。本調査では、まず『捷解新語』の収録語彙数を抽出し『捷解新語』を通してどれほどの日本語語彙を学習できたかを確認した。次に該當資料の中で高頻度で出現する語彙群から、優先的に学習が進むと考えられる語彙を抽出した。最後に両方を合わせて学習書としての性格を考察した。『捷解新語』には四種の版本が存在する。ここで調査対象とするのは原刊本(1676)・改修本(1748)・重刊本(1781)の三つである。文釋本(1796)は調査範囲に含めない。各版本の語彙量をそれぞれ延べ語数と異なり語数に分けて見てみると次のような結果が出た。原刊本は延べ語数が6,495語で異なり語数が1,957語であり、改修本は延べ語数が6,625語で異なり語数が2,162語、最後に重刊本は延べ語数が4,902語で異なり語数が1,806語であった。なお、三本を合わせたデータでは延べ語数が18,022語、異なり語数が2,443語となった。二つ目の調査として、三本総合語彙表から出現頻度順に語彙を整理し、累積率を算出した。出現頻度の累積率が持つ意味は、頻度が高い語彙から学習した際、該當資料に対する解読率が早く高くなるという効率性にある。『捷解新語』では出現頻度上位20位までの語彙を学習した場合、単純計算上、原刊本は資料の約21.4％を、改修本と重刊本はそれぞれ20.9％と19.5％を解読できるということになる。語彙の内容を確認してみると、最も高頻度で出現する語彙群は基礎・基本語彙であった。これは特殊な場合を除くと調査対象の性格に関わらず、殆どの資料で共通して現れる現象である。しかしこれらに続く上位語彙群では、該當資料の特殊性が見られ、朝鮮対日本の外交や貿易業務に関する語彙が多数確認された。語彙の量を現代韓国の中等教育過程での第二外国語教育と単純比較してみると、『捷解新語』の語彙量ででき得る日本語語彙学習はあくまで基礎レベルである。『捷解新語』で高級レベルの学習は難しかったであろうと思われる。しかし日本語学習書としての特徴が浮き彫りになる出現頻度上位語彙群からして、『捷解新語』が特定の学習目的に特化された、すなわち外交業務会話に重きをおいたテキストであると判断できる。また當時の時代状況を考慮すると、専門分野関連教材としては必ずしも少ない語彙量だとは言い難く、この点をはっきりさせるために今後の課題として、現存する他司訳院日本語学習用教材を合わせた研究が必要であると考える。
