This paper investigates possibilities of multilingual education in Korea. In particular, this study focuses on Japanese learner’s needs analysis and make some suggestions on Japanese-English multilingual education. According to Tucker(1999), multilingualism is the use of two or more languages, either by an individual speaker or by a community of speakers. He also mentions that multilingual speakers outnumber monolingual speakers in the world’s population. Korea has been one of the monolingual countries around the world. However, Korean society has demanded multilingual speakers under the influence of globalization. As a result of 590 Japanese learners’ needs analysis, most of Japanese learners want Japanese-English multilingual education. The questionnaire is composed of 13 items. This result claims that it is necessary to study Japanese-English multilingual education method for Japanese learners, although it has never been tried so far. In conclusion, this paper proposes two strategies to achieve successful Japanese -English multilingual education focusing on grammar.
