The purpose of this study is to identify the status and characteristics ofconversation development behaviors in Tohoku and Tokyo area in Japan. Especially,this study reviewed how they developed conversation in what conversational typein the email when they had to cancel an appointment. When cancelling appointment through Internet email, it is needed to deliver theintention of appointment cancelation and to show their efforts to maintain therelationship favorable and amicable. Through comparative analysis review like this study, we can reduce misunderstandingout of different communication style in Japanese. As misunderstanding inthe conversation may happen according to how we develop conversation rather thanvocabulary or grammar, further studies on various scenes should be followed.
