The objective of the study was to develop and validate a scale of Smartphone overuse for adolescents. This study developed a pre-study on the perceptions of adolescents overuse smartphone, developed using Smartphones for Overuse scale for adolescent. The Participants of this study were 657 high school and university students in South Korea. They were randomly categorized as the exploratory group and the cross group. 326 high school and university students belonged to the exploratory group and 331 high school and university students belonged to the cross group. The final scale was associated with five factors and 15 items including sleeping disturbance, learning disturbance, low perception risk, deterioration of the concept of time and changes in interpersonal relationships. As the result of reliability, Cronbach alpha value was .913. Self-measured scale about Smartphone overuse and self-control with criterion validity showed between -.146 and . 687. They showed a meaningful correlation. As for the structural equational analysis model of the exploratory group, the results were as follows; CFI=.978, TLI=.972, RMSEA=.044. It was identified that construct validity fitted. Finally, in cross validity of Smartphone overuse, the fit index of exploratory group and cross group was also proper. The scale of this study would be utilized empirically, since the study focused on student’s perception of Smartphone overuse.

본 연구의 목적은 청소년 스마트폰 과다사용 척도를 개발하고 타당화하는 것이다. 본 연구는 스마트폰을 사용하는 청소년의 과다사용에 대한 인식을 바탕으로 청소년용 스마트폰 과다사용 척도를 개발하였다. 연구대상은 전국의 고등학생과 대학생 657명이다. 이중 326명은 탐색집단, 331명을 교차집단으로 무선할당하였다. 최종 척도는 수면방해, 학습저해, 위험미지각, 시간조절실패, 대인관계변화 등 5개 요인 15문항이다. 신뢰도 분석 결과, Cronbach α값이 .913으로 나왔고, 스마트폰 중독 자가진단 척도, 자기통제와의 준거타당도는 -.146~.687로 유의한 상관을 나타냈다. 구조방정식 분석을 통한 탐색집단의 모형적합도 지수는 CFI, TLI, RMSEA가 .978, .972, .044로 나타나 구인타당도 또한 적합한 것을 확인하였다. 마지막으로 스마트폰 과다사용 척도의 교차타당도에서도 탐색집단과 교차집단 모두 적합지수가 좋은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 개발한 척도는 학생들이 인식한 스마트폰 과다사용을 바탕으로 했다는 점에서 실증적 활용도가 높을 것으로 예측된다.
