The purpose of this study is to offer and examine practical policy how to increase the integrity of police officer and how to prevent police officials from corruption by analyzing which factors are statistically significant and influential to the integrity of police, after clarifying effective factors of the integrity of police official. The scope of people who are the object of this study ranges over 345 police officers who participate in the Police Officials Education Institute courses. Although it is desirable to survey all the police officials over the country to increase the accuracy of this study, the scope of the object of this study is limited to them because of the limitation of expenses and time. As the result of analyzing how the influential factors of police officials’ integrity affect the level of integrity awareness, it was discovered that individual, sociocultural, institutional factors among 5 independent factors(individual, beneficial, sociocultural, institutional, environmental factors) statistically have causal association with police officials’ integrity awareness.

이 연구의 목적은 경찰청렴성에의 영향요인들을 도출한 후, 어떤 영향요인들이 경찰청렴성의 인식에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 지를 분석하여 경찰청렴성을 향상시키는 방안들을 제시하는 것이다. 이 연구의 조사대상자는 경찰대학교와 경찰교육원에서 교육중인 경찰관 345명이고, 경찰청렴성에의 영향요인인 독립변수는 개인적 요인, 복리후생적 요인, 사회문화적 요인, 제도적 요인, 환경적 요인의 5개 변수이고 , 종속변수는 경찰청렴성의 인식이다. 또한, 통제변수로서 인구사회학적 변수인 성별, 연령, 계급, 재직기간, 최종학력을 투입하였다. 경찰청렴성에의 영향요인인 5개 독립변수가 종속변수인 경찰청렴성의 인식에 어떤 영향을 미치는 지에 대하여 분석한 결과, 개인적 요인, 사회문화적 요인, 제도적 요인이 경찰청렴성의 인식에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 경찰청렴성을 향상시키기 위해서는 개인적 요인, 사회문화적 요인, 제도적 요인 차원의 개선방안을 마련하여 시행할 필요가 있다.
