The purpose of the study was to present the implications based on the results of analyzing current situation of the career education in the colleges for elementary school teacher education. To achieve the purpose of the study, the curriculum for the career education from all colleges for elementary school teacher education and all syllabuses for for the career education classs were collected. Furthermore, the professors taught those career education classes were interviewed. Then, the syllabuses and the results of the interview were analyzed by the standards for the career education. The results of the study were firstly, the level of a career education in elementary school teacher education colleges was very low. Secondly, the contents of the career education course as a selective major course were constructed based on the standards of the career education. The implications from this study were as follows. First, the career education courses were insufficiently addressed in most of the colleges for elementary school teacher education. Therefore, The career education through practical arts education should be enforced and implemented. Second, the career education courses should be opened at least as a major class if it would be impossible to open the career education course as a selective liberal arts course. Third, the career education course should be established as a required coursework. Forth, the contents of the career education courses in practical arts educaton, in any case, should be adjusted and regulated based on the standards for the career education.

이 연구의 목적은 우리나라 초등교사교육기관에서의 실과 내 진로교육 영역에 대한 교사교육 현황을 비교·분석하고 시사점을 도출하는데 있다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 각 초등교사교육기관에서의 실과 내 진로교육 영역에 대한 교사교육을 인터넷 자료, 강의계획서, 담당교수와의 인터뷰를 통하여 조사하였다. 그리고 각 기관에서의 교사교육을 비교하기 위하여 실과 내 진로교육 영역의 교육 내용 분석을 위한 기준을 마련하였다. 그리고 각 기관에서의 실과 내 영역의 교육내용을 비교·분석하였고, 분석 결과를 바탕으로 시사점을 도출하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등교사교육기관에서의 진로교육은 매우 부족한 실정이다. 둘째, 심화과정에서 제공되는 진로교육의 내용은 진로교육의 내용 기준에 적합하게 제공되고 있다. 이 연구의 결과를 기반으로 제시된 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 각 초등교사교육기관에서의 실과교육을 통한 진로교육을 강화해야 한다. 둘째, 교양선택과목으로 진로교육을 개설하는 것이 어려울 경우 적어도 실과교육 심화과정에서는 반드시 진로교육을 위한 과목을 개설해야 한다. 셋째, 필수교과로서의 진로교육이 반드시 수행되어야 한다. 넷째, 진로교육을 수행할 때에는 진로교육 내용 기준에 적합하게 교육이 이루어져야 한다.
