This study explored the applicability of ethical theory in physical education(PE) and implications for PE. For this, applying utilitarianism, deontology, virtue ethic in PE, the study explains the feature. First, the utilitarian let students make moral judgements more easily in problem situations, and it could provide opportunities for them to design rightful action through cooperation and discussion. Secondly, deontology could cultivate student's good will to let them know about impotance of rules or norms in physical activity and build the will to keep it. Third, virtue ethics could lead student's inner growth through PE in that it is suitable for school sports to highlight the correct attitudes and cultivate emotions, emphasizes habituation. Consequently, ethical approaches of physical education should be done in a comprehensive point of view, it could lead to student's internal and external changes. This approach is more appropriate for elementary physical education that emphasizes student's basic education, practice and habituation.

본 연구는 학교체육에서 윤리학의 적용 가능성을 탐색하고 그것이 학교체육에 주는 시사점을 찾아보기 위해 공리주의, 의무주의, 덕윤리의 관점을 학교체육에 적용해보고 그 특징을 제시하고자 하였다. 첫째, 공리주의는 문제사태에서 비교적 쉽게 도덕적 판단을 내릴 수 있게 해주며, 체육수업을 받는 학습자가 서로 협력과 토의를 통해올바른 행위를 설계할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 수 있을 것이다. 둘째, 의무주의는 학습자의 선의지를 길러 체육활동에서 강조하는 규칙이나 규범의 중요성을 알고 그것을 지킬 수 있는 의지를 길러줄 수 있을 것이다. 셋째, 덕윤리는 올바른 태도와 정서의 함양을 강조하는 학교체육에 적합하다는 점, 습관화를 강조하고 있다는 점에서 체육을 통한 학습자의 내면적 성장을 이끌 수 있을 것이다. 그러나 학교체육에 윤리학을 적용함에 있어 고려해야할 부분이 있다는 점에서 학교체육은 다양한 윤리학의 강조점을 종합적으로 적용하여 학습자의 내적, 외적 변화를 이끌 수 있어야 할 것이다. 이러한 접근은 학습자의 기초교육 및 실천과 습관화 교육을 강조하는 초등체육에서 보다 적절하고 의미 있는 방법으로 중요한 가치를 지니고 있다.
