The Canadian Police System is consist of state police system and local police system unlike Korea. We will help the Korean Police System reflecting the implication here. The Canadian Police is based on the federal police, state police and basic local police and the local organization can run independently according to financial status and cultural characteristics etc., and execute the official duties of local police as delegating to the federal police. In the case of basic local organization, they run adjacent the local police with them together. The Canadian Police is achieving wide area of local police scale. In the case of introduction for local police system in Korea as well, the local organization that is a good status for rate of fiscal independence runs directly. On the contrary, multiple local organizations can operate jointly or invest the local organization’s budget partially when consigning to the federal police.

캐나다경찰제도는 우리나라에 다른 국가경찰과 자치경찰로 구성되어 있다. 여 기서 우리가 차용할 만한 시사점을 얻어 한국경찰제도 시스템에 도움을 주고자 한 다. 캐나다 경찰은 연방경찰, 주경찰, 기초자치경찰로 이루어져 있고 자치단체는 재정 능력이나 문화특성 등에 따라 독자적인 자치경찰을 운용할 수 있으며, 주 또 는 연방경찰에 위탁하여 자치경찰업무를 수행하는 경우도 있다. 기초자치단체의 경우, 인접 기초자치단체 등과 함께 자치경찰을 운용하는 경우도 있다. 캐나다 경찰은 자치경찰 규모를 광역화시키고 있는 것이 그 특징이다. 우리나라 도 자치경찰을 도입할 경우, 어느 정도의 재정자립도가 있는 자치단체는 자체적으 로 운영하고, 부족한 경우에는 여러 자치단체가 함께 공동으로 운영하거나 국가경 찰에게 위탁하고 자치단체의 예산을 일부 투입하는 방안도 있을 것이다.
