If Akutagawa’s motif of gender awareness for women’s mistrust and suspicion exists, such tendencies would be best reflected in YABUNONAKA. In this study, Akutagawa’s gender awareness for women was analyzed through Akutagawa’s Masago’s rape and Takehiro’s perspective as he witnessed this act. Tazyomaru’s awareness change for Masago occurs so easily. Furthermore, the fact that Takehiro looks down upon Masago, in the case of Akutagawa, is due to the lack of compassion from his biological mother. And this is evident through the threatening events experienced by a prostitute. As a result, the propensity to smile is portrayed through Masago by Akutagawa. Whether this was done consciously or unconsciously, it led both men, Tazyomaru and Takehiro, to their deaths. It can be concluded the men’s psychological state can be a motif of Akutagawa’s women mistrust and suspicion. Misogyny means hatred for women, in other words, it means to look down upon women. Men’s attitude of looking down upon women and women’s self-hatred is transparent through Masago, therefore, a sectional glimpse of Japan’s family structure can be seen under its patriarchy. It is important to be aware and mindful of the existence of men’s condescending manner and self-display behind their faces. I think the response of men who surrounded Masago’s rape is a reflection of Akutagawa’s women gender awareness. It can be concluded that Akutagawa is a writer who carries on the idea of misogynist as it is evident in the novel called YABUNONAKA.

아쿠타가와의 젠더의식에 여성불신과 의혹의 모티브가 잠재하고 있다면, 그러한 경향이 가장 잘 반영된 작품은 『야부노나카』일 것이다. 본 연구에서는 다조마루의 마사고에의 강간과 그것을 지켜보는 다케히로의 시점을 통해, 작가 아쿠타가와의 여성젠더의식에 대해 검토해 보았다. 다조마루의 마사고에 대한의식 변화가 매우 간단히 바뀌는 것, 또 다케히로가 마사고를 멸시하듯 차갑게 바라보는 시선의 근거는 과연 어디에 있는 것인가. 아쿠타가와의 경우 실모에게서 따뜻하게 양육되지 못한 채, 창부적 성향을 지닌 여성으로부터 위협받은 사례를 찾아 볼 수 있으며, 그로 인한 미소지니적 성향은 아쿠타가와가 그려낸 마사고를 통해 엿볼 수 있다. 그것은 의식적이든 무의식적이든 다조마루와 다케히로 두 남자를 죽음에 이르게 함으로써, 남자 주인공들의 심리상태는 아쿠타가와의 여성불신과 의혹의 모티브가 잠재된 것으로 판단된다. 미소지니라는 것은 여성혐오라는 의미이지만, 극단적으로 그것은 여성멸시이다. 마사고를 통해 남성에 의한 여성멸시. 그리고 여성에게는 스스로 자기혐오의 의미가 그대로 드러나 있어, 가부장제 감시 하에 있는 일본의 가족제도의 단면을 엿볼 수 있다. 여성을 소중히 생각한다는 남자들의 그 뒷면에는 여성멸시와 자기현시(自己顕示)가 잠재하고 있다는 것을 놓쳐서는 안 될 부분으로, 마사고의 강간을 둘러싼 주위 남성들의 반응은 곧 아쿠타가와의 여성에 대한 젠더의식의 반영이라고 생각된다. 결국 데고메 소설로서 『야부노나카』로 보는 아쿠타가와는 여성혐오적 사상계보를 잇는 작가라고 할 수 있다.
