This is an exploratory study on effectiveness of ‘Neighbors Serving Practice School(NSPS)’ which had been developed as a movement of ethics and value restoration in the point view of church social welfare. NSPS is a training program of practicing in their real life fields what was taught at classes rather than just theoretical lectures like the existing church social welfare programs. After 10 sessions training of the NSPS had been done, the evaluations of participants were analyzed. As the results of analysis, it was shown that the participants experienced the God’s image restoration through recognition change about me and others. And then they experienced relationship change with neighbors and community, as well as recognition change about serving neighbors and evangelism. Based on the study results, the sustainable measures by which churches can practice social welfare at communities were suggested.

본 연구는 교회사회복지적 윤리와 가치회복 운동의 일환으로 개발된 「이웃섬김실천학교」의 내용을 살펴보고, 프로그램이 본래의 목적을 제대로 달성하였는지를 평가한 탐색적 연구이다. 「이웃섬김실천학교」는 기존 교회사회복지 교육프로그램과 달리 이론 강의 중심이 아니라 매 회기마다 학습한 내용을 실제 삶의 현장에서 적용한 후 함께 나누는 훈련형식으로 구성되었다. 총 10회기의 훈련을 실시하였으며, 프로그램 종료 후 참여자들의 평가 내용을 분석하였다. 분석결과 참여자들은 나와 타인에 대한 인식 변화를 통해 하나님의 형상회복을 경험하고, 이를 토대로 섬김에 대한 인식 변화, 전도에 대한 인식이나 태도 변화, 이웃 및 지역사회와의 관계변화를 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 향후 교회가 지역사회에 대한 사회복지실천을 지속 가능하게 할 수 있는 방안을 제언하였다.
