This study aims to investigate the propriety of the task that maritime police officers should conduct to ensure the effectiveness of maritime security and safety, for which the relative importance of maritime security and safety work was analyzed with AHP technique. According to analysis through AHP method that was used political priority order decision, 5 variables included in high position 30% among 15 sub-variables in total weight and priority order by each step were investigated into Maritime Security, Maritime Safety, Police Investigator, Criminal Investigation, and Marine Search and Rescue. Conclusively, the concentration and reinforcement of maritime security work - executive protection, prevention of terrorism, etc. - should be done.

이 연구에서는 해양경비안전 분야에서 소속 경찰공무원이 수행하여야 할 업무의 적절성을 규명하고, 선택과 집중을 통한 해양경비안전업무의 효율성을 담보하기 위하여 전문가 패널을 중심으로 한 AHP 기법을 활용하여 해양경비안전업무의 상대적 중요도와 그에 따른 우선순위를 직무를 분석하고자 하였다. 이에 따라 이 연구에서는 다양한 정책 대안들 중 어떠한 대안이 우선적으로 고려되고, 결정되어야 하는가에 유용하게 사용되는 AHP 분석 기법을 활용하였으며, 그러한 분석 결과 해양경비업무들 중 가장 중요한 것으로 도출된 것은 해양경비업무였다. 그리고 2순위로 해상안전이며, 그 다음으로 형사, 수사, 그리고 해양수색구조의 순으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과에 따라, 해양경비 영역의 해양에서의 경호 및 요인보호, 대테러 예방, 및 대간첩 작전에 관한 사항과 이에 대한 해경의 집중 및 역할 강화가 요구된다.
