The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between personality types and interpersonal relation traits of pre-service early childhood teachers. The data in this study were collected from 280 pre-service early childhood teachers in Inchen City and Gyeonggi Province. The results of this study were as follows. First, there was significant difference in interpersonal emotion about the motive for college admission. Second, there was significant difference in personality about the motive for college admission. Third, the Openness to Experience and Agreeableness in personality factors influences interpersonal cognition. The Extraversion, Openness to Experience, Agreeableness and Conscientiousness in personality factors influence interpersonal emotion and behavior. Forth, the Openness to Experience has the biggest influence on the interpersonal behavior. The Extraversion has the biggest influence on the interpersonal emotion. And the Agreeableness has the biggest influence on the interpersonal cognition. The limitations and implications of the study were discussed along with some suggestions for future research and pre-service early childhood teacher education.

이 연구는 예비유아교사들의 성격 특성과 대인관계 특성을 밝히고, 성격 유형이 대인관계에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 현재 대학에 재학 중인 예비유아교사 280명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 두 요인 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 대인관계 특성에 영향을 주는 성격특성을 분석한 결과, 개방성, 친화성이 증가할수록 대인관계 인지 능력이 높아졌고, 외향성, 개방성, 친화성, 성실성이 증가할수록 대인관계 정서 및 대인관계 행동 능력이 높아졌다. 대인관계 행동에는 개방성이 가장 큰 영향력이 있었고, 대인관계 정서에는 외향성이 가장 큰 영향력이 있었으며 대인관계 인지에는 친화성이 가장 큰 영향력을 나타냈다. 예비유아교사들의 대인관계 특성은 입학동기에 따라서 대인관계 정서에 차이가 나타났다. 성격 특성 역시 입학동기에 따라서 성격 특성에 차이가 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 예비유아교사를 양성하는 과정에서 그들이 갖추어야 할 인성적 특성과 대인관계 역량을 강화하기 위한 노력이 보완되어야 할 것이다.
