The aim of this article is to analysis on the correlation between the nature of law-relative education and the fundamental values and virtues in the Character Education Promotion Act, which was established on January 2015 and was in effect on July same year. The first contents of research were searching for the common elements between directing points of the Character Education Promotion Act and goals of the law-relative education. The second contents of research were analysis of the means of fundamental values and virtues in the Character Education Promotion Act. The third contents of research were that interpret and summarize about the correlations of the fundamental values and virtues in the Character Education Promotion Act and the law-relative education. According to the result of this study, the contents and methods of the law-relative education are closely linked with the means of the fundamental values and virtues in the Character Education Promotion Act, and could be play a leading role in the methodology condition for the Character education

본 연구는 2015년 1월 제정되어 7월부터 시행된 인성교육진흥법과 법교육과의 관련성을 살펴보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 먼저 인성교육진흥법의 지향점과 체제를 살펴보고, 이것이 법교육지원법에서 지향하는 목표와 어떤 공통적 요소를 가지는지에 대하여 분석하였다. 또 인성교육진흥법에서 제시하고 있는 핵심적 가치․덕목과 핵심적 역량의 의미를 분석하고 그것이 법교육의 본질적인 측면에서 어떻게 연계될 수 있는지에 대하여 해석하고 정리하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 법교육은 인성교육이 지향하는 가치․덕목을 실천하는 데에 매우 적합한 교육내용을 가지고 있다는 것과, 그 내용을 이해함으로써 가질 수 있는 가치와 태도가 인성교육이 궁극적으로 추구하려는 핵심적인 역량과 상당부분 일치한다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 인성교육의 방법론상 법교육은 그 선구적 입장에서 역할을 수행할 수 있을 것으로 생각한다.
