The goal of this paper is diversification of point of views on silver industry and conceptual expansion of it. Accordingly, by dividing structural pattern of silver industry according to consumer's view, supplier's view, and integrative view, respectively, each characteristic was cross-analyzed. Nowadays, it is needed for the elders to transfer from mere consumers to active suppliers. The limits of this study are that empirical data were not provided as this study centers on theoretical inquiry, and existing methods weren't compared and analyzed thoroughly. Also, the role of local government and central government in silver industry was not fully explained. Further studies should present a range of cases in developed countries that can be applied in the real field through broad investigation. And also they need to research efficient operation of each local production community.

본 연구의 목적은 실버산업에 대한 관점의 다양화와 개념의 확장이다. 따라서 실 버산업의 구조적 유형을 수요자적 관점과, 공급자적 관점, 통합적 관점으로 구분하 여 각각의 특성을 비교·분석하였다. 실버산업에서 노인인구를 소비자로만 인식하 던 기존의 관점을 자본주의 시스템의 중심인 시장이라는 토대를 바탕으로 노인인구 들이 다양한 구조와 방법들을 가지고 실버산업 또는 고령친화산업에 참여할 수 있 는 틀을 제시하였다. 다만, 이론적 고찰을 중심으로 수행한 연구라서 실증적 자료들 이 제시되지 못하였다. 또한 새롭게 접근하는 본 연구와 기존의 접근법들과 비교· 분석을 철저하게 수행하지 못하였다. 또한 실버산업 분야에서 중앙정부와 지방자치 단체의 역할을 충분하게 제시하지 못한 한계를 갖고 있다. 향후 연구는 현장에서 적용할 수 있는 선진국의 다양한 사례들을 폭넓게 조사·분석하여 제시하는 것이 필요하다. 또한 각 지역마다 조성되는 생산공동체의 효율적인 운영방안들을 연구해야 할 것이다.
