Since the signing of the diplomatic relations between the People’s Republic of China (henceforth China) and the Republic of Korea (henceforth Korea) in 1992, the economic relations between the two economic giants in East Asia has been on a stellar growth track. The bilateral trade and investment has increased steadily and startlingly in general, promoting remarkably both sides not just in GDP growth but also in economic structure and integration. In 1998, both sides officially defined “the cooperative partnership towards the 21st century” to locate their close ties. Just five years later in 2003, both sides improved the definition to “the comprehensive cooperative partnership”. And in 2008, both governments improved it again to “the strategic cooperative partnership”. Looking through the twenty years, it could be concluded that the economic relations between the two countries has made great-leap-forward developments.
