This paper is a companion piece of my paper titled “Environmental history in China” that was published in Journal Environment and History (Vol.10, No.4,2004). Based on the books published during 2000 to 2006, I summarizes the main development of environmental history research in China, including environmental history of Northwest China, History of disease, Environmental cultural history, Environmental history of minorities, Ecoagricultural history, Ancient urban environmental history, etc. In comparison with environmental history research vertically and horizontally, Some dimensions should be explored further as below: relation of industrialization and environment, relation between political systems and environmental degradation, relationship among environment, gender, ethnicity, and class, study of modern urban sanitary and occupational disease, theoretical construction of general environmental history of China, contextualizing Chinese environmental history in world environmental history.

중국학계가 환경사라는 개념을 수용한 후 중국환경사 연구는 빠르게 발전하고 있으며 학술연구실적도 풍부해지고 있다. 2000년까지의 중국환경사와 관련된 연구현황을 조사한 결과, 근 몇 년간 중국환경사 연구는 새로운 성과를 거두었다. 본 논문은 2000년 이후 중국환경사 발전의 새로운 진척을 살펴보고 외국과의 역사발전 비교분석을 통해 향후 환경사연구의 발전방향을 제시하고자 한다.

    본 연구소의 설립을 통해 우선 한중 양국 국민의 상호이해와 교류증진을 위한 인문, 사회과학적인 연구는 물론이고, 이를 통해 기업(인)이 중국에 안정적인 정착과 교류를 할 수 있는 각종 환경을 조성하고자 한다. 게다가 본 연구소는 기존의 연구소의 기능과는 달리 단순한 학술 교류에 머물지 않고 인적 교류를 통해 양국관계의 이해를 증진하고 나아가 한국과 중국의 각종 프로젝트를 적극 유치, 개발함으로써 지속적으로 재원의 창출을 도모하고자 한다.
