The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of transcendence virtues of Christian young adults on religious well-being and existential well-being. As for research object, 238 Christian young adults were selected and transcendence virtues, religious well-being scale and existential well-being scale were conducted. As for data analysis, SPSS 18.0 was used. The results are as follow. First, it was found that there was a positive correlation among the transcendence virtues, religious well-being and existential well-being of Christian young adults. Second, gratitude and spirituality of transcendence virtues were having positive effects regarding religious well-being and appreciation was having negative effects. However, optimism and humor were found to have no significant effects. Namely, it means that religious well-being increases when spirituality and gratitude are high and appreciation is low. Third, gratitude and optimism of transcendence virtues were having positive effects regarding existential well-being and appreciation was having negative effects. However, humor and spirituality were found to have no significant effects. Namely, it means that existential well-being increases when gratitude and optimism are high and appreciation is low. Such results show that transcendence virtues of Christian young adults is having respectively different effects on religious well-being and existential well-being. There is a need for differentiated intervention of transcendence virtues in enhancing the religious well-being and existential well-being of Christian young adults.

본 연구의 목적은 기독청년의 초월덕목이 종교적 안녕감과 실존적 안녕감에 미치는 영향을 검증하는데 있다. 연구대상은 기독청년 238명이었으며, 초월덕 목 척도, 종교적 안녕감 척도, 실존적 안녕감 척도를 실시하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 18.0을 사용하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기독청년의 초월덕목, 종교적 안녕감, 실존적 안녕감 간에는 모두 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 종교적 안녕감에는 초월덕목의 감사와 영성이 정적인 영향을 미치고 있 었고 감상력은 부적인 영향을 미치고 있었다. 그러나 낙관성과 유머는 유의미 한 영향이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 영성과 감사가 높고 감상력이 낮을수록 종교적 안녕감이 높아진다는 것이다. 셋째, 실존적 안녕감에는 초월덕목의 감 사와 낙관성이 정적인 영향을 미치고 있었고 감상력은 부적인 영향을 미치고 있었다. 그러나 유머와 영성은 유의미한 영향이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 감 사와 낙관성이 높고 감상력이 낮을수록 실존적 안녕감이 높아진다는 것을 의미 한다. 이러한 결과는 기독청년의 초월덕목이 종교적 안녕감과 실존적 안녕감에 각기 다른 영향을 미치고 있다는 사실을 보여준다. 따라서 기독청년의 종교적 안녕감과 실존적 안녕감을 증진시키는데 있어서 초월덕목의 차별화된 개입을 할 필요가 있다.
