Background As elder population is aging, dementia elders are on the rise. In addition, as dementia elders are going up, the number of wandering elders is steadily rising annually. Likewise, a growing number of wandering elders is raising its ugly head as a social problem. As a solution to the problem, identification tags are being supplied to wandering elders. But ID tags that is currently provided, have a lack of esthetic quality in design, which have a tendency to affect self-esteem of dementia elders negatively. This phenomenon causes people to have a negative perception toward dementia elders, which also leads them to rejecting wearing I.D. tags. The purpose of this study is to invent a new design of I.D. tags, differentiated from existing ones by grafting Information ICT onto I.D. tags of dementia elders and giving a new and in the aspect of beautiful design and practical use. Methods Through investigation and research on the effects get from the combination of fashion jewelery and high-tech, using a variety of techniques and materials to the existing I.D. tags are produced in Elderly Dementia fashion jewelry. Result By associating the utilize new kinds of materials, gives I.D. tags both practical uses and esthetic elements. Conclusion Likewise, as jewelry as a symbol of beauty and wealth, is transformed to be the one for the sake of special people, this work tries to develop the jewelery that is high added value.

연구배경 노인인구의 고령화가 진행됨에 따라 치매노인의 인구도 급증하고 있다. 치매노인의 증가에 따라 배회노인의 수 또한 매년 증가하는 추세다. 이렇듯 배회 치매노인 수 증가는 심각한 사회문제로 대두되고 있으며 해결방안으로 인식표를 보급하고 있다. 그런데 현재 보급되어지고 있는 인식표의 디자인적 심미성이 떨어져 치매노인의 자존감 저하와 치매에 대한 부정적인 인식으로 인해 착용 거부를 야기 시킨다. 본 연구의 목적은 치매노인의 인식표에 ICT기술을 접목시키고 디자인적으로 아름다우면서 실용성을 중심으로 기존의 인식표와 차별을 줄 수 있는 디자인 개발을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법 패션 주얼리와 첨단기술의 결합에서 얻을 수 있는 효과에 대해 조사, 연구를 통해 기존 치매노인 인식표에 다양한 기법과 소재를 사용하여 치매노인용 패션 주얼리로 제작한다. 연구결과 이를 통해 새로운 주얼리의 범위를 확대하였으며 다양한 소재의 사용으로 실용성과 심미성을 모두 얻을 수 있었다. 결론 이처럼 아름다움과 부의 상징으로 존재하던 주얼리가 특별한 대상을 위해 존재하는 주얼리로 변화됨에 따라 범위의 다양성이 나타나고 더 나아가 고부가 가치의 주얼리로 발전시키고자 한다.
