The purpose of this study were analyzed career choice of students who were admitted to the gifted enterprisers of the next generation in KAIST and POSTECH. The following conclusion was derived according to the major implications 및 outcomes of the study. First, the gifted enterprisers of the next generation hope research type and research -venture type in the shape of the ideal career path. Second, the gifted enterprisers of the next generation think about their future careers in early school childhood. Third, the gifted enterprisers of the next generation think doctoral-level in highest level of education, are considering of going on the college. Fourth, one student of the gifted enterprisers of the next generation wanted employment and venture after finishing high school. Fifth, the majority of the gifted enterprisers of the next generation choose college major(engineering and technology and management) in consideration of employment field. Sixth, more than half of the gifted enterprisers of the next generation plan venture in after employment.

이 연구는 KAIST 및 POSTECH에서 차세대 영재기업인 교육을 수료한 학생을 대상으로 그들의 희망 진로 및 현재의 진로 상황을 추적하고자 하였다. 이를 통해서 진로정립 및 진로지도를 위한 커리어 패스를 도출하고자 한다. 이를 위해 차세대 영재기업인을 중학생, 고등학생, 대학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 이들의 현재, 혹은 희망 진학, 전공, 취업분야를 유형화하였다. 이 연구의 주요 시사점 및 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 차세대 영재기업인은 연구형(고등학교 졸업 → 대학 졸업 → 대학원 졸업 → 연구자) 및 연구창업형(고등학교 졸업 → 대학 졸업 → 대학원 졸업 → 연구자 → 창업)이 학생들이 희망하는 가장 이상적인 진로경로모형으로 나타났다. 둘째, 차세대 영재기업인은 이른 학령기에 자신의 미래 직업에 대해 생각하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 차세대 영재기업인은 자신의 최종 학력을 박사 수준으로 생각하고 대학 진학을 고려하고 있었다, 넷째, 차세대 영재기업인 중 고졸 취업 및 창업을 원하는 학생이 존재하였다. 다섯째, 차세대 영재기업인 다수는 자신의 취업분야를 고려하여 대학 전공을 공학 및 기술 경영 등으로 설정하고 있다. 여섯째, 차세대 영재기업인 중 취업 후 절반 이상이 창업을 계획하고 있었다.
