Since the publishing of the International Framework by International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) in December 2013, practice of disclosing integrated reports has spread widely. Meanwhile, assuring the reliability of those reports has become an urgent task. Under these circumstances, this paper aims to explore assuring practice and issues of integrated reports published by Korean corporations and to propose suggestions for improvement. To do so, this paper reviewed relative literatures and cases. Literature review provided theoretical background on assurance of integrated reports, and then case review was executed on collected integrated reports of Korean corporations published in first half year 2015. Major findings of this paper are as followed. First, formality-wise, the names and format of reports should be standardized. Second, content-wise, assessing assurance should be more strict, assessment on application of Framework should be included, and different type of assessment should be delivered for different types of information. Third, system-wise, assurance of IR should be made compulsory, guideline for that should be made, and finally, the assurance should be executed in practice.

2013년 12월 국제통합보고위원회(IIRC)가 통합보고에 대한 프레임워크(프레임워크)를 발표한 이후 통합보고서의 발간이 확산되고 있다. 동시에 통합보고서의 신뢰성확보가 시급한 과제로 대두되고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 기업의 통합보고서 검증현황과 과제를 파악하고 개선방안을 제시하는 것이다. 연구목적 달성을 위해 본 연구는 문헌고찰과 사례조사를 실시하였다. 문헌고찰을 통해 통합보고서 검증과 관련된 이론적 배경을 살펴보았다. 2015년 상반기에 발간된 국내 기업의 검증보고서를 수집하여 사례조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 형식적인 면에서는 보고서 명칭의 통일과 보고서 양식의 통일이 필요하다. 둘째, 내용적인 면에서는 검증수준을 높이고, 프레임워크 적용여부에 대한 검증내용을 반영하며, 항목별로 다른 검증수준을 적용할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 제도적인 면에서는 검증을 의무화하고, 검증 가이드라인의 제정 및 통합보고서 전체에 대한 검증을 실시할 필요가 있다.
