The purpose of this study is to investigate closely the years of sending and relations of sending and receiving in Changgye Im Yeong’s eongan(Korean old vernacular letters) contained in Imchanggyeseonsaengmukbogukjanaegan(林滄溪先生墨寶國字內簡) with his genealogy or related ancient documents to correct wrong contents and also reanalyze linguistic facts reflected on Changgye Im Yeong’s letters. This study has proved that the eongan which advanced research supposed to have been sent by Im Yeong to his youngest elder sister, Jo Hyeong-bo’s wife, was sent by Im Yeong to his youngest sister through examination on his genealogy and his family’s ancient documents. With the correction of relations of sending and receiving like that, the items of Korean linguistics with which they have supposed those letters were sent by a little brother to his elder sister had to be reanalyzed. First, ‘nuuinim(누의님)’ is an example that means one’s junior, [妹], and second, it can be understood that he used second person pronouns, ‘janʌy(자ᄂᆡ)’ and ‘hʌso(ᄒᆞ소)’ in order for him, an elder brother, to treat his junior, younger sister, respectfully. Lastly, with Im Yeong’s letters, it has been learned that in eongan, ‘소샹(疏上)’ was used by a brother to call his sister, too.

본고는 『林滄溪先生墨寶國字內簡』에 수록된 滄溪 林泳의 언간을 대상으로 발신연도와 발수신 관계를 면밀히 검증하여 기존연구에서 잘못된 내용을 수정하고, 滄溪 林泳의 편지에 반영된 언어 사실을 재해석하고자 한 것이다. 기존 연구에서 林泳이 막내누나에게 보낸 것으로 추정했던 언간은 족보와 林泳 집안의 고문서를 통해 林泳이 막내여동생에게 보낸 것임을 밝혔다. 이와 같이 발수신 관계가 수정됨에 따라 그간 남동생이 누나에게 보낸 것으로 추정케 했던 국어학적 정황들도 재해석하였다. 먼저 ‘누의님’은 하위자인 [妹]를 의미하는 실례가 되었고, 2인칭 대명사 ‘자ᄂᆡ’와 ‘ᄒᆞ소’체의 사용은 상위자인 오빠가 여동생을 좀더 높여 대등한 관계로 대우한 데 따른 것으로 이해하였다. 마지막으로 林泳의 편지를 통해 언간에서는 ‘소샹(疏上)’이 오빠가 여동생에게도 쓸 수 있었다는 사실을 알게 되었다.
