The purpose of this study was to verify the mediating effects of social supports in the relationship between aggression and smartphone addiction of University students. For this research, 238 university students resided in Busan metropolitan city were asked to complete some scales for this study. To test the multiple mediating effect, data were analyzed with Pearson's correlation and multiple regression. The results of this study were as follows. First, smartphone addiction of university student was positively correlated to aggression and social supports. Second, In the relationship between smartphone addiction and aggression, three was the four subfactors of smartphone addiction, among them 'abstinence' and 'virtual reality pursuit' were positively correlated to aggression. Third, social supports had mediating effect relationship between smartphone addiction and aggression of university students. This study verified that for the purpose of preventing the smartphone addiction and decreasing the aggression due to smatrphone addiction, it was important to supply social support with smartphone addicts of university students. The authors suggested some direction to solve the problem related this study questions and remarked the limitation of this study.

본 연구는 공격성이 폭력, 범죄 등의 각종 사회문제를 예측하는 중요한 성격의 특성이라는 선행연구에 기반하여 대학생의 스마트폰 과다사용이 공격성을 불러일으키지만 사회적지지가 지각될 경우 공격성이 감소될 수 있을 것이라는 연구 질문을 검증하고자 하였다. 자료수집은 부산광역시에 위치한 4개 대학에 재학 중인 대학생을 대상으로 238명의 설문자료를 분석에 사용하였다. 연구결과 스마트폰 과다사용은 가상세계지향성과 금단이 공격성에 영향을 미치며, 스마트폰 과다사용은 사회적지지에 부적인 영향을 미치고, 사회적지지는 공격성에 부적 영향을 미치는 것이 확인되었다. 또한 스마트폰 과다사용은 공격성에 직접적인 영향과, 사회적지지라는 매개변수를 통해 공격성에 간접적으로 영향을 미치고 있었다. 즉 스마트폰 과다사용이 높을수록 공격성이 높아지는 관계에서 사회적지지를 매개로 하였을 때에는 공격성이 낮아진다는 것이다. 공격성은 또 다른 폭력을 유발할 수 있으므로 이러한 결과에 따른 사회적지지 체계 확립 방안을 제시하였다.
