People today have quite a bit of interest in medicines and nutricents, but we who are in the areas of theology and philosophy, art and psychoanalysis, put more values on the issue of spiritual energy. One of five Freudian organizing principles is the economic. At that time of Freud’s clinical work, however, this area was not fully investigated. Later on great thinkers like Jung, Lacan and Kohut have developed this idea more fully. Especially Lacan himself declared that he changed Freudian energy dynamics into the dynamics of political economy. Kohut argued that the compensatory structure as the affectively productive energy structure is the most important one we all need to establish during our life time. As Kohut mentioned patients in our clinical settings suffer not from the lack of material energy but from the lack of spirit. Therefore, it is important for professional counselors including pastors to have sophisticated and articulated informations about how to empower the patient’s spiritual energy. Hence this paper discusses the types of spiritual(or psychical) energy: conscious- unconscious energy, body-action-psychical energy, exodus-task energy, and imagination-structure energy. This kind of classification would help therapists to categorize what they experience in the clinical works. They can become more integrative and systematic. Of course, pastors who have these knowledge would get help in practicing the pastoral care and education. The major goal is to help clients establish the solid structure that is creative and consistent with beautiful values and objectives

오늘날 영양가와 약물에 대한 관심들이 많다. 하지만 신학과 철학 그리고 예술과 정신분석은 정신에너지에 대한 관심을 더 중시한다. 프로이트의 메타이론 중에서 경제학적 원리는 그의 임상활동 때에는 큰 발전을 이루지 못했지만, 그 이후 융과 라캉 그리고 코핫이 이 분야를 중심적으로 발전시켰다. 라캉은 프로이트의 에너지역학을 정치경제학으로 대체했다고 선언했다. 코핫은 정서적 에너지의 건설적인 발전구조로서의 보상구조가 삶의 가장 중요한 가치라고 했다. 임상적인 현장에서 환자들은 물질에너지가 아니라 정신에너지의 부족으로 인해서 고통 받는다. 그래서 상담전문가는 치료적 차원에서 어떻게 하면 정신에너지를 긍정적으로 그리고 창조적으로 강화할 것인가에 대해 정교하고 명료한 노하우들을 축적시켜 놓고 있어야 한다. 이에 본 논문은 정신에너지의 유형들에 대해서 논의 한다: 의식과 무의식 에너지, 신체 운동 정신에너지, 해방과 과제에너지, 그리고 환상과 구조 에너지. 이러한 분류작업은 치료자에게 정교하고 명료한 범주화 작업을 가능하게 해준다. 그래서 보다 더 통합적이고 체계적으로 환자를 도울 수 있다. 물론 목회자에게도 이러한 안목은 목양적인 지도력을 실행하는데 큰 지혜를 줄 수 있다. 핵심적인 것은 아름다운 가치와 목표를 향한 창조적인 노동의 구조를 확립하는 것이다.
