Looking at the film market in 2015, animated movies are popular in theaters leading the trend of the healing animated movies for adults. Considering the colors used for the characters in the movies are expanded to the field of the character’s personality and emotion, it is considered that the colors would have great influence on the viewer’s emotional change and personal psychological change. This study has a significance to define if a color can be a proper catalyst for the character’s personality and emotion and if the animation has maximized the color symbolization. As the result of the documentary research, a color may have influence on personal emotions, feelings, and psychological meanings, but have common symbolization contained in a color for a certain range. Therefore, it was found that color representation of a character is helpful to decide the personality of the character. The selected animated movie uses the color closely related to the story of the movie, facial expression of the characters, and the symbolization of the colors to effectively describe the main character’s emotion and provide a symbolic clue for viewers to interpret the characters’personality. Moreover, the characters have different colors suitable for their personality as various emotions have their own color that matches their personality, and the proper selection should be made equally.

2015년 한국에서는 어른들을 위한 힐링 애니메이션이 부상하고 있다. 본 연구는 애니메이션 캐릭터들의 색채 사용을 통해 캐릭터의 성격 및 감정에 알맞은 촉매제 역할을 할 수 있는 가를 규명하고, 색채의 상징성을 적극 활용한 작품인지를 파악하는데 의의가 있다. 문헌연구 결과, 색채는 인간 개인의 기분과 정서, 심리적 의미는 영향을 받을 수 있으나 색에 내포된 상징적인 부분은 어느 정도 공통점을 지닌다는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 애니메이션 캐릭터 색채표현이 캐릭터의 성격을 결정하는데 많은 도움을 줄 수 있는 것으로 확인할 수 있었다. 선정된 애니메이션 캐릭터의 색채 표현은 영화의 이야기, 캐릭터 표정 묘사, 색채에 내포된 특정 상징성 등과 밀접한 관계를 맺으며 주인공의 감정을 효과적으로 나타내어 그 캐릭터를 성격을 해석하게 하는 상징적 단서를 제공한다. 또한 캐릭터 색상은 인물의 성격, 여러 감정들이 그에 어울리는 색채 이미지를 가지고 있으며 그에 맞는 선택이 균등하게 이루어져야 한다.
