To develop better training programs in sex crime investigation in Korea, we analyzed U. S. sex crime investigation training programs focusing on their content and distinctive characters. First, the Korean sex crime investigation training programs were compared to 4 courses of the U. S. programs defining training goals, training targets, locations and a training period, and then policy implications were drawn. Expansion of cooperative approaches from multi-organizations is important in setting-up training goals and targets. Diversification of training locations and curriculums is also required along with hands-on learning experience in various investigation situations. Additionally, establishing a local training hub in each province by utilizing local fellow-instructors can be considered. Introducing of sex crime investigator certification system will also be beneficial. Although it is difficult to say that all these policy implications can be immediately applied in training in sex crime investigation, we hope that our study can help field educators in the Korean National Police Agency and police education organizers in planning and executing training programs.

이 연구는 미국 경찰의 성폭력 수사 교육과정들의 내용과 특징을 분석함으로써 한국경찰의 성폭력 수사 교육의 발전방향을 모색해보고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 먼저 한국의 성폭력 교육과정의 현황을 개관하고 미국의 4가지 교육과정을 교육목표 및 대상, 교육장소 및 기간, 교육내용 및 구성 등으로 항목별 특징을 분석한 뒤 한국에의 정책 적 시사점을 도출하였다. 연구결과 도출된 시사점으로는 교육목표 및 대상과 관련해 서 다기관 협력적 접근법의 확대, 교육장소와 관련해서는 교육장소의 다양화, 교육내 용 및 구성과 관련해서 교육내용의 다양화, 교육방법과 관련해서는 다양한 상황에 대 비한 내실 있는 실습교육, 강사 구성과 관련해서 동료강사 제도 활성화 등 지역적 교 육거점 시스템 구축, 교육이후 활용과 관련해서는 성폭력 전문수사관 인증제도 도입 등이 있다. 비록 본 연구에서 제시한 정책점 시사점들이 에산 및 인력의 부족, 정책적 우선순위 등의 이유로 곧바로 성폭력 수사교육에 반영되기는 어려울 것이나, 향후 경 찰청 및 교육기관 실무자들의 관련 계획 수립 및 교육운영 등 실제 업무에 도움이 되기를 기대한다 .
