Islamic State(IS) which has around 30,000 members including foreigner jihadist from 100 countries since 2013 has fought with US-led international allies, and committed terrorism such as beheading and burning to death, it has become the subject of concern and fear from the people all over the world. Especially, IS has spread extremism ideology through Social Medias such as Twitter, SNS and made one Korean, Kim(18) join as a member in January of this year, and there was an attack in Korean Embassy located at Libya in April of this year. Like these, as IS is becoming Korea's direct threat, we need to make countermeasures after minute assessing on IS's possibility of attacking against Korea. Therefore, this study was carry out to serve as a basis for providing the countermeasures. That is, I researched about a study if there is a possibility of IS attacking against Korea, then if there is a possibility, where the main targets could be. To this end, first found out about the terrorism aspects such as the origin of IS, status. Based on it, after evaluating the possibility of attacking against Korea, the result showed that it is not a few that there could be a terrorism in Korea from following force of IS and there was a high possibility of attacking Korean facilities and Koreans from IS or IS branch in overseas. Vulnerable factors to terrorism are western facility all over the country, swarm facility, VIP, aircraft, overseas Korean missionaries, correspondent, corporate facility and businessman in abroad, diplomat. Possible terrorism types are usually explosive, firearms, poison, abduction in Korea, and abduction, murder of VIP, attack on Korean facility such as Korean embassy in abroad. The policy implications and the limitations were discussed at the last part of the research.

IS는 2013년 이후 100여개국 출신의 외국인 지하디스트가 포함된 3만여명 안팎의 대원으로 미국이 주도하는 국제동맹군과 전투를 하는가 하면 참수, 화형과 같은 잔혹 한 테러행위를 하면서 우리나라를 비롯한 세계인들에게 관심과 공포의 대상이 되고 있다. 특히, IS는 트위터 등 소셜미디어를 이용한 극단주의 이념을 전파시켜 지난 1월 한국인 김군(18세)을 조직원으로 가담시키는가 하면 지난 4월에는 리비아 수도 트리 폴리(Tripoli)에 위치한 한국 대사관에 총격을 가하는 등 우리나라에도 직접적인 위협 이 되고 있다. 따라서 이 연구는 IS의 우리나라 테러가능성과 주요한 공격대상을 검 토해보기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이 연구는 IS 및 테러와 관련된 국내 선행연구 의 자료분석을 통한 문헌연구방법과 최근 IS 테러에 대한 국내외 주요한 언론보도자 료 분석의 방법을 실시하였다. 이 연구의 결과, 국내에서는 IS추종세력에 의한 테러가 능성이 적지 않으며, 해외에서는 IS 또는 IS 지부에 의한 우리나라 시설물이나 인물 에 대한 테러가 높은 것으로 평가되었다. 또한 테러취약요소는 전국에 산재한 서방시 설, 다중운집시설, 주요인사, 항공기, 해외선교사, 특파원, 해외진출 기업시설 및 기업 인, 외교관 등으로 나타났다. 주요한 예상테러유형은 국내에서는 주로 폭발물과 총기류, 독약, 요 인납치 등이, 해외에서는 아국인 납치테러와 요인암살, 대사관과 같은 우 리나라 시설물에 대한 공격이 예견되었다. 끝으로 IS의 우리나라 테러가능성에 대한 정책적 제언 및 이 연구의 한계를 논의하였다.
