The purpose of this study is to verify the effectiveness of sex education programs in developmentally disabled adolescents. The sex education program used in this study was designed by reorganizing existing ones according to the characteristics of developmentally disabled adolescents. The program largely consists of the basic course and deepened course (total 16 sessions) to change their sex knowledge and sex attitude. The subjects were divided into an experimental group (22) and a control group (16) to verify comparatively the effectiveness of the program through a preand post-test. According to the findings, applying a customized sex education program appropriately designed in consideration of developmentally disabled adolescents_ characteristics and needs improves their sex knowledge and change their sex attitude positively according to the objectives or methods of teaching and also develop their sex consciousness effectively. It is expected that this study can be ultimately used as a basic tool to protect developmentally disabled adolescents_ sexual rights and human rights, help the developmentally disabled to have proper sex knowledge and positive sex attitudes and also prevent damage from sexual violence, and eventually allow them to enjoy sexualrights soundly in leading a social life desirably afterwards.

본 연구는 발달장애 청소년의 성교육 프로그램의 효과성을 검증하는 연구이다. 본 연구의 성교육 프로그램은 기존의 성교육프로그램을 바탕으로 발달장애 청소년의 특성에 맞게 재구성 되었으며, 크게 성지식과 성태도 변화의 기본과정과 심화과정(총 16회기)으로 구성되어 있다. 연구대상자는 실험집단(22명)과 통제집단 (16명)으로 나누어, 사전- 사후 검사로 프로그램의 효과성을 비교 검증하였다. 연구결과 발달장애 청소년 특성과 요구에 부응하는 맞춤형 성교육 프로그램 적용은 지도 목표나 방법에 따라 발달장애 청소년에게 성지식의 향상과 긍정적인 성태도의 변화를 가져오며 성의식 발달이 향상되어 가는 특성을 보인다는 점에서 그 효과를 확인할 수 있다. 이는 궁극적으로 발달장애 청소년의 성적 권리와 인권을 보호하는데 기초도구로 활용할 뿐만아니라 발달장애인의 올바른 성지식, 긍정적인 성태도 나아가 성폭력 피해를 예방하며, 향후 원만한 사회생활의 수행을 위해 건강한 성적 권리를 향유할 수 있도록 하는 데 유용할 것이다.
