The purpose of this study is to gain an understanding of classical literature from a counseling point of view and utilize it as a meaningful idea in the field of modern counseling. This study analyzed the literature of Simseong theory and Suyang theory discussed in the previous philosophical point of view and reanalyzed in a counseling point of view. It has undergone a process of re-interpretation in a counseling perspective. We analyzed the concept of Sim(心) and Seong(性) in Simseong theory, and looked at the counseling significance of the structure and function of the heart. In Suyang theory, we checked the specific tasks of Chisim (治心) and Jonsim (存心) and examined the specific methods for the change and maturation of the self. Based on the counseling knowledge, extracted from Simseong and Suyang theory of Da-san, Da-san counseling was constructed. The three concepts presented by ‘reign over the body and mind,’ ‘govern emotion’, ‘inner desire to rule,’ and ‘raising commitment’ were proposed as a way to reflect in the self. Furthermore, ‘broaden the relationship’, ‘Making the depth of the relationship’, and “grow together” were proposed as a way to reflect in the relationship.

이 연구의 목적은 다산의 심성론과 수양론에 담겨있는 상담학적 의미를 추출하여 현대 상담에 의미 있는 지식으로 활용하는 데 있다. 이를 위해, 이 연구에서는 기존의 철학적 관점에서 논의된 다산의 심성론과 수양론에 대한 선행문헌을 분석하여 상담학적 관점으로 재해석하는 과정을 거쳤다. 다산의 심성론에서 심(心)개념과 성(性)개념을 분석하여 마음의 구조와 작용에 대한 상담학적 의미를 살펴보았다. 다산의 수양론에서는 치심(治心)과 존심(存心)의 구체적인 과제를 확인하고, 마음의 변화와 성장을 위한 구체적인 방법을 알아보았다. 다산의 심성론과 수양론에서 추출한 상담학적 지식을 토대로 다산 상담을 구성하였는데, 다산 상담의 주요 개념으로 자기성찰, 실천의지, 관계적 실현을 제시하였다. 이 세 가지 개념을 포함하여 자기 안에서 성찰하는 방법으로 ‘몸과 마음을 다스리기’, ‘감정을 다스리기’, ‘내면의 욕구를 다스리기’, ‘실천의지를 기르기’, ‘자신을 발견하기’를 제시하였고, 관계 안에서 성찰하는 방법으로 ‘관계의 폭을 넓히기’, ‘관계의 깊이를 더하기’, ‘더불어 성장하기’를 제시하였다.
