The purpose of this research was to evaluate the mediating effect of resilience and deliberate rumination in the influence of childhood trauma on posttraumatic growth. Data was collected from 761 college students nationwide who participated in various questionnaires. The results were analyzed and interpreted using structural equation modeling. The results indicated that a hypothesized model produced a better fit to the data than a comparative structural model. The hypothesized model shows the following results: First, we found that childhood trauma affected posttraumatic growth through resilience. Second, childhood trauma also affected posttraumatic growth through deliberate rumination. Third, childhood trauma affected posttraumatic growth through resilience and deliberate rumination in order. In the model that was finally selected, childhood trauma, resilience, and deliberate rumination were able to explain 40.8% of posttraumatic growth. Limitations of current study and suggestions for the future investigations are included in the discussion.

본 연구는 아동기 외상이 외상 후 성장에 미치는 영향에서 탄력성과 의도적 반추의 매개효과를 알아보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 전국의 대학생 761명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하고, 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 아동기 외상이 외상 후 성장에 영향을 미치는 데 있어서 탄력성과 의도적 반추의 완전매개모형인 가설모형이 부분 매개모형인 경쟁모형에 비해 더 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 가설모형에 나타난 결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 아동기 외상은 탄력성을 매개해서 외상 후 성장에 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 아동기 외상은 의도적 반추를 매개해서 외상 후 성장에 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 아동기 외상은 탄력성과 의도적 반추를 연속적으로 매개해서 외상 후 성장에 영향을 미쳤다. 넷째, 구체적인 영향력을 살펴본 결과 아동기 외상, 탄력성, 의도적 반추는 외상 후 성장 총 변량의 40.8%를 설명하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 시사점과 후속연구를 위한 제언들을 제시하였다.
