This research aims at examining how Ancient Immigrants from the Korean peninsula to Japan are being explained in the exhibition of the “National Museum of Japanese History” and shall consider recognatory problems of the explanations. Up to now, studies about immigrants from the Korean peninsula have been promoted Japanese academics in the fields of history, anthropology and archaeology. Theories which esteem the status of immigrants from the Korean peninsula highly had come out in its process, but these ware not accepted widely by scholars.　Views from the archaeology world were relatively reflected by the exhibition of this museums. The recognition about immigrants from the Korean peninsula in the archaeology world was reflected just as it is expected and intended to be. Archaeologists tend to seek the Korean peninsula as the home land of ancient immigrants to Japan. But also other archaeologists tend to presume the immigration as small scale as possible and underestimate the role of immigrants from peninsular Korea. This tells us ultimately that the historical perspective that was held during the period of Japanese Militarism could not be swept off completely.

본 연구는 일본 국립역사민속박물관의 전시에서 한반도 도래인의 일본 이주를 어떻게 설명되어 있는지를 살펴보고 학계의 인식상의 문제점을 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 그 동안 일본학계에서는 문헌사학, 인류학, 고고학 등에서 도래인에 관한 연구를 해왔다. 그 과정에서 한반도 도래인의 위상을 높게 평가하는 학설이 나왔으나 학계에 수용되지 않았다. 이 박물관의 전시에는 상대적으로 고고학계의 견해가 많이 반영되어 있었는데 역시 고고학계의 한반도 도래인 인식을 그대로 반영하고 있었다. 고고학계는 도래인의 고지(故地)를 한반도에서 찾는 경향이 있다. 그러나 도래의 규모를 가능한 한 소규모로 추정하고 도래인의 역할을 과소평가하는 경향이 있는데 이는 군국주의 시대의 역사관을 완전히 불식하지 못하였음을 말해주는 것 같다.
