Recently, along with the large-scale development in the North Han River region, a number of large settlements were investigated. As a result various materials that could be used to study cultural aspects and chronology before The Proto Three Kingdoms Period were found. The central district does not have regional materials of the early ages, chronology study mostly concentrated on settlements. However focusing on separate remains resulted in inconsistency among contemporary remains causing a lot of confusion. In this text, I have extracted ‘contemporary residence groups(cluster 住居群)’ and looked into the developments of them. To extracting clusters(住居群), I have analyzed by combining cooking containers, iron ware and the inner facilities of the residence. Also, based on the fact that the direction of exits differs by time, I also used the changes of the direction of major axis to help extracting clusters. Consequently, it was confirmed that various residence groups with different term of existence, existed together. Based on such analysis results of clusters, I have looked into the developments of the settlement in The North Han River Region during The Proto Three Kingdoms Period. I have divided the existing first stage of The Proto Three Kingdoms Period into 2 stages which in total became 4 stages. Also I subdivided them into 10 sub-stages by combining each stages' structure, facilities inside the house and time the associated remains had changed. Then it was found that each had close relation to the period it actively imported new elements from outside. In the mean time, as for understanding the pottery culture, I found that Jung-do Style Plain Pottery was brought into before establishing Han Sa gun(漢四郡). Also there was a gap between the time the Jung-do Style Plain Pottery was introduced and padding pottery was introduced.

최근 북한강 유역의 대규모 개발과 더불어 대형 취락이 다수 조사되었다. 그 결과 원삼국Ⅲ기 이전의 문화양상과 편년을 검토할 수 있는 다양한 자료를 확보하였다. 중부지방은 이른 시기 분묘 자료가 남아있지 않아 편년 연구는 주로 취락을 대상으로 이루어졌다. 그러나 개별 유구 단위의 편년에 치중한 결과, 동시기 유구간의 편년적 불일치 현상이 발생하고, 많은 혼란이 야기되었다. 이 글에서는 주거지 내부시설, 주거지 장축방향에 따라 추출된 동시기 주거군(住居群 cluster)을 통해 유적마다 존속기간이 상이한 다양한 주거군이 수평적으로 혼재하고 있음을 전제로 출토유물상의 특징을 검토하여 시간에 따른 주거군의 변화 양상을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 기존의 원삼국Ⅰ기를 2개의 단계로 세분하여 총 4개의 단계로 나누었다. 또한 각 단계 내에서 주거지의 구조와 내부시설, 공반 유물의 변화가 발생하는 시점을 조합하여 총 10개의 소단계로 세분하였다. 그리고 각 단계는 외부로부터 신요소의 수입이 적극적으로 이루어지는 시기와 매우 밀접한 관련이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 한편 중부지방 원삼국시대 토기문화의 이해에 있어서 한사군 설치 이전에 이미 중도식무문토기가 유입되었음을 확인하였다. 또한 중도식무문토기 등장 시점과 타날문토기의 등장 시점간에 시차가 존재함을 확인하였다.
