This paper examined the effects of the characteristics of marital relationship on marital group counseling in multicultural families. The marital concensus, marital satisfaction, marital coherence, and expression of affection were as proxy for the characteristics of marital relationship. The self-esteem, communication, and marital response were as proxy for the marital group counseling. Based on the analysis of three hundred cases, the following results were found. First, with regards to the characteristics of marital relationship, marital consensus positively associated with the self-esteem and marital response. Second, with regards to the characteristics of marital relationship, marital satisfaction positively associated with the communication. Third, with regards to the characteristics of marital relationship, marital coherence positively associated with the communication. Finally, with regards to the characteristics of marital relationship, expression of affection positively associated with the self-esteem, communication, and marital response.

본 연구는 다문화 가정을 대상으로 부부관계 특성이 부부의 집단 상담에 미치는 영향을 연 구하였다. 부부관계의 특성은 부부결합력, 부부만족도, 부부 일치성, 애정표현을 통하여 살펴보 았다. 부부 집단 상담은 자기존중감, 의사소통, 부부 적응을 통하여 살펴보았다. 300개의 사례를 통하여 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결과가 나타났다. 첫째, 부부관계 특성인 부부 결합력은 자기 존중감, 부부 적응과 정적인 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 부부관계 특성인 부부만족도는 의사소통과 정 적인 상관을 나타내었다. 셋째, 부부관계 특성인 부부 일치성은 의사소통과 정적인 상관이 나타 났다. 마지막으로 부부관계 특성인 애정표현은 자기존중감, 의사소통, 부부 적응과 정적인 상관 이 나타났다.
