The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of family-related personality education using fairy tales on children’s self-regulation and pro-social behavior. Study subjects were 56 children, aged five, from two classes of T Kindergarten located in K, Gyeonggi-do. Children of experimental group participated in family-related personality education using 10 sessions of fairy tales, and those of control group participated only in the activity of listening to the same fairy tales, in the same period. In order to examine the effect of family-related personality education using fairy tales on children’s self-regulation and pro-social behavior, t-test was performed on the pre- and post-test scores, and the results are as follows. First, it turned out that family-related personality education using fairy tales influences children’s self-regulation. And experimental group showed improvement in all the sub-factors of self-regulation, that is, self-control, reduction of impulsivity, and concentration, more than control group. Second, it turned out that family-related personality education using fairy tales influences children’s pro-social behavior. And experimental group showed improvement in all the sub-factors of pro-social behavior, that is, leadership, helping others, communication, consideration, trying to approach, sharing, empathy, and emotional adjustment. These results indicate that family-related personality education using fairy tales positively influences children’s self-regulation and pro-social behavior.

본 연구의 목적은 동화를 통한 가정연계 인성교육이 유아의 자기조절능력과 친사회적 행동 에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 데 있다. 연구대상은 경기도 K시에 소재한 T유치원 만 5세반 두 학 급의 유아 56명이며, 실험집단의 유아들은 10회기의 동화를 통한 가정연계 인성교육활동에 참 여하였으며 비교집단은 같은 기간 동안 실험집단과 같은 동화를 유치원에서 듣는 활동에만 참 여하였다. 동화를 통한 가정연계 인성교육이 유아의 자기조절능력과 친사회적 행동에 미치는 영 향을 알아보기 위하여 사전·사후검사 점수에 대해 t 검정을 실시하였으며 이에 대한 결과는 다 음과 같다. 첫째, 동화를 통한 가정연계 인성교육이 유아의 자기조절능력에 영향을 미치는 것으 로 나타났다. 또한 자기조절능력의 하위영역인 자기통제력, 충동성 감소, 주의집중력의 모든 영 역에서 실험집단의 유아가 비교집단의 유아보다 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 동화를 통한 가 정연계 인성교육이 유아의 친사회적 행동에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 친사회적행동의 하 위영역인 유아의 지도성, 도움주기, 의사소통, 주도적 배려, 접근시도하기, 나누기, 감정이입 및 조절의 모든 영역에서 실험집단의 유아가 비교집단의 유아보다 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 이는 동화를 통한 가정연계 인성교육이 유아의 자기조절능력과 친사회적 행동에 긍정적인 영향을 미 쳤다는 것을 의미한다.
