The purpose of this study is to suggest a plan for food ethics education in elementary school by the by the unified approach. The food that elementary students eats as a future generation is the most significant more than anything else. The necessity of the unity of practical arts education and moral subject in elementary school is caused by the subject trait. The practical arts education and put special emphasis on making food, moral education on value and attitude about food life. The food ethics education need to unity two subjects for positive result in education. From 2009 reversed curriculum two subjects reduced school hours and contents the extent of impossible efficient education. The food ethics education need to strategic unify. In this study I suggest the aims and methods of the food ethics lesson for elementary teachers. I try to go with the food life education in practical arts and the value and attitude in moral education. After all, the food ethics education have to meet eco-intelligence, ethical consumption, and democratic citizenship education.

본 연구는 실과와 도덕과의 통합적 접근에 의해 초등학교 음식윤리교육 방안을 탐색한 글이다. 미래세대인 초등학생이 먹는 음식은 그들의 몸과 마음을 형성하기 때문에 그들의 음식생활은 무엇 보다 중요하고 소홀할 수 없는 부분이다. 초등학생들은 자신의 가치 선택과 결정을 할 수 있는 단 계로 나아가는 시기로, 무엇을 먹어야 혹은 먹지 말아야 할지, 어떻게 먹어야 혹은 먹지 말아야 할 지에 대해 기성세대의 영향을 받기는 하지만, 스스로 알고 생각하고 선택할 수 있도록 음식윤리교 육이 필요하다. 초등학교 교육과정의 음식윤리교육은 실과에서는 음식생활내용이, 도덕에서는 가 치․덕목 교육이 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 학교 현장에서 체계적․효율적인 교육의 실시는 쉽지 않은 상황이다. 특히 2009 개정 교육과정 이후 두 교과는 시수가 축소되면서 교육내용이 질적으로 약화될 위기에 처해 있다. 이에 음식윤리교육에서 전략적 통합이 필요하다고 판단하여 실과의 음 식생활교육에 도덕의 가치․덕목을 추가하여 음식윤리교육 내용을 추출하여 통합적 수업모형과 음 식명상 방법을 제시하여 보았다. 음식윤리교육은 궁극적으로 에코지능, 윤리적 소비, 민주시민교육 과 연계되어야 한다는 점에서 도덕적 실천을 강조하지 않을 수 없는 영역이다.
