In this paper, we consider the major causes of the Asia economic crisis occurred in 1997. After analyzing four major causes proposed at that time, we propose 3 kinds of indexes that can choose the countries who might suffer financial crisis when the economic conditions surrounding those countries change for the worse in the near future. In those countries chosen from our indexes, many developed countries, including U.S., U.K., France and Japan, exist among the list despite our expectation. We don’t expect those selected developed countries will suffer financial crisis in the near future when considering their influences on international economic systems, including IMF. Rather, the selected medium size countries including Portugal, Greece etc., may be the candidates. Most selected countries are in Europe. The countries who have already suffered financial crisis in Asia in 1997 exhibit rather good features than ever at this time.

이 논문은 1997년 발생한 아시아금융위기의 발생 원인에 대하여 정리하였다. 이를 바탕으로 당시 의 자료에 근거하여 금융위기 특히 외환위기의 가능성에 대한 3가지의 지표들을 선정하였으며, 세 계의 모든 국가에 대하여 위 지표를 사용하여 위기가능국가를 선정하고자 하였다. 각 대륙별 위기 가능국가를 선정하였으며, 분석결과는 유럽에서 가장 많은 수의 국가가 위기가능성을 보이고 있었 으며, 아시아금융위기를 겪은 아시아에서는 상대적으로 양호한 결과를 보이고 있었다.
