This study was conducted during 2013 and 2014, investigated sound installation art works presented as a representation of synesthesia. The study considers pathological tinnitus in the production of art works. Visualization of the work began with a drawing in conjunction with a sound system to reproduce the sound heard by someone suffering with tinnitus as real phenomena. Although there is no actual tinnitus noise source, it was found that the sound of rushing water has a similar wavelength but with a different feeling. Thus, the sound of this 'water' is used to visualize sound, and it was applied as a replacement for hearing. However, the sound channeled to the outside through the art work is not heard differently by your ear. Tinnitus refers to a noise which is heard, while a sense of sound similar to a target in our everyday lives is 'water', whereas the audience uses their auditory organs to connect with images of water or heart sounds. The moment the noise is coming from within the body, it breaks down the boundaries of routine and other sounds. It distinguishes noise and other sounds that will be dismantled by the system to perceive sound. Rather, sound installation art with an emphasis on the issues is raised in this paper to discuss technology for sound installation art by focusing on its formative aspects. Therefore, researchers can utilize the new format of the medium of sound installation art through works by artists looking to revisit the concept of sound installation as an image borrowing the shape of a sound, and can support them in creating the work as that which briefly describes the theory and focus of this study.

본 연구는 2013-14년도에 제작하고, 작품으로 발표한 사운드 설치미술을 공감각의 표현방식으로 연구한 것이다. 연구자의 청각에서 병적으로 들리는 소음이 이명증인데 이것을 작품으로 제작한 것으로 부터 시 작하였다. 처음 드로잉으로 시작된 작품의 시각화는 실제 이명 현상에서 들리는 소음을 재현하기 위한 사운드 장치들로 제작되었다. 이명은 실제 음원이 없는 소음이지만 물소리의 파장된 음이 이와 유사함을 발견하였고, 이때부터 ‘물’은 사운드를 시각화하여 다른 감각 즉, 청각으로 전환하는 것에 응용하여 제작 되었다. 그러나 작품을 통해서 외부로 표출된 사운드는 귓속의 울림과는 다르게 소음으로 공유되지 않는 다. 이명에서 들리는 소음은 일상의 유사한 음원을 감지하면서 일상의 대상인 ‘물’로 치유되고, 소음이 관객의 청각적 기관에 개입하면서 물 또는 심장소리라는 이미지와 조우하기 때문이다. 몸에서 들리는 소 음이 일상화 되는 순간 그 외의 사운드와 경계가 허물어진다. 소음과 그 외의 사운드라는 구분은 사운드 를 지각하는 체계에 의해 해체되는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 제기된 문제점인 기술을 중요시한 사운드 설 치미술보다는 조형적인 면에 중점을 가지는 사운드 설치미술에 대해서 논하고자 한다. 연구자는 사운드 의 형상을 차용한 이미지로서 사운드 설치미술이라는 개념에 대해 다시 한 번 되짚어 보고, 연구자의 작 품을 통하여 사운드라는 매체를 설치미술의 형식을 통해서 새롭게 바라 볼 수 있게 하며, 작품을 제작함 에 있어서 이를 뒷받침 해주는 이론들을 간략히 설명하고 연구하였다.
