The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of dysfunctional beliefs and emotional regulation on the relationship between adolescents’ attachment to parents and borderline personality disorder traits. The subjects of this study were 344 high school students. The Korea Inventory of Parents Attachment, the Dysfunctional Beliefs Scale, Emotional Regulation Scale, and Borderline Personality Disorder Scale were used as measurements. Collected data were analysed using structural equation modeling. The results of the study were as follows. First, adolescents’ attachment to parents had a direct effect on borderline personality disorder traits, dysfunctional beliefs and emotional regulation. Second, results indicated a partial mediating effect of dysfunctional beliefs on the relationship between adolescents’ attachment to parents and borderline personality disorder traits. Third, results indicated a partial mediating effect of emotional regulation on the relationship between adolescents’ attachment to parents and borderline personality disorder traits. These findings indicated that adolescents’ attachment to parents, dysfunctional beliefs and emotional regulation need to be taken into account for effective intervention in borderline personality disorder traits.

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 부모애착과 경계선 성격장애 성향의 관계에서 역기능적 신념과 정서조절 능력의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 연구를 위해 남․녀 고등학생 344명을 대상으로 부모애착 척도, 역기능적 신념 척도, 정서조절 능력 척도, 경계선 성격장애 척도를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 구조방정식 모형을 이용해 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 청소년의 부모애착은 경계선 성격장애 성향, 역기능적 신념과 정서조절 능력에 직접 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년의 부모애착과 경계선 성격장애 성향의 관계에서 역기능적 신념은 부분매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 청소년의 부모애착과 경계선 성격장애 성향의 관계에서 정서조절 능력은 부분매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 청소년의 경계선 성격장애 성향을 예방하고 개입하기 위하여 부모애착, 역기능적 신념, 정서조절 능력을 함께 고려해야 할 필요성이 있음을 시사한다.
