There are many political and military conflicts, history conflicts, territory conflicts in east north asia. The purpose of this paper is to search for the kind and characteristics of conflicts in east north asia and to explore Kant and Habermas’s theoretical discussion about peace and co-existence among states and then to present the tasks and approaches of global citizenship education for helping solution of these conflicts. The results is to follows. For peace and co-existence in east north asia, global citizenship education must aim to construct the union of republics based on the interfriendly culture of world citizens in east north asia. In order to realize it, first of all, global citizenship education must erode the history, territory and civic education based on nationalism, mercantilism and reinforce the history, territory and civic education based on human rights and democracy. Second, especially, global citizenship education must reinforce human rights and democracy education in order to consolidate strong republic in east north asia. Third, global citizenship education must teach economical interdependence, various cultural exchange and mutual efforts for solving the problems of environment and human rights in order to construct east north asian community. Forth, global citizenship education must implement critical intercultural education in order to consolidate friendship among east north asian citizens.

동북아에는 정치·군사, 역사, 영토 문제가 존재한다. 본 논문은 동북아의 평화와 공존을 모색하 기 위하여 동북아 지역갈등의 종류와 특징 그리고 지구촌 평화와 공존을 위한 이론적 논의를 살펴보고 동 북아의 평화와 공존을 위한 지구촌 시민교육의 과제와 방안을 제시하고 있다. 논의 결과는 다음과 같다. 동북아의 평화와 공존을 위하여 지구촌 시민교육은 동북아에 상호 우호적인 세계시민문화에 기반한 공화 국들의 연합체 형성을 지향해야 한다. 이를 위한 실천 방안으로 첫째, 동북아 국가에서 민족주의, 국가주 의, 중상주의에 기반한 역사 및 영토 그리고 시민교육을 해체하고 인권과 민주주의에 기반한 역사 및 영 토 그리고 시민교육을 시행해야 한다. 둘째, 특히 동북아에 공화국을 형성하고 굳건히 하기 위하여 인권 과 민주주의교육을 강화해야 한다. 셋째, 동북아 공동체 형성을 위하여 동북아 국가들 간의 경제적 상호 의존과 다양한 문화교류, 그리고 환경 및 인권문제를 해결하기 위한 공동노력 등을 가르쳐야 한다. 넷째, 동북아 국가 시민들 간의 우호 정신 형성을 위하여 비판적 상호문화이해교육을 시행해야 한다.
